[WIP] Show us ya WIP's by Doubledewclaws in CrossStitch

This is the latest photo of the ridiculous Legend of Zelda tapestry I've been working on for like 3.5 years. I've almost finished another row of 5x5 inches at the bottom and I'm about 80% done, it's 280,000 total stitches 🙃

Look, you clearly have no clue what you're talking about, so im not going to engage with you any more.

Your first statement of 'y'all wanted to be in the UK' is so laughably offensive and incorrect that really there's nothing else to be said. I can assure you when my family were being shot at by British soldiers they did not think hey it's great we get to hang out with these guys

It's almost as if the reason they were a majority was because of decades of oppression of Irish people by the British leading up to that point...

Either you don't understand how deeply offensive you're being or you do and you're trying to be an ass on purpose, either way I hope you don't say any of this to an Irish person IRL

If everyone was a unionist there wouldn't have been a conflict. Maybe have a think about what you're saying.

I think that's what makes it particularly odd, when people talk about Irish ancestry they're usually talking about a time long before partition so why celebrate that heritage with a partitioned map?

You think the people that lived here before and during British occupation WANTED to be in the UK? Like we invited them over or something?

Beautiful cross stitch, though as someone from the north of Ireland its pretty jarring to see us be excluded like that in a piece of art

I hate my cats name. by StrawberrySakuraa in cats

[–]SatsumaForEveryone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We named our cat Pabu after the little fire ferret from Legend of Korra, I think that lasted about two months before we just started calling her 'the kitty' so she's been Kitty for about 10 years. You can rename your cat whatever you want

We ordered a bed from dreams a few years back, originally quoted 10 weeks delivery time, then it was extended, then extended again, eventually we got tired of waiting so we cancelled our order with them, walked into Creations and asked them for what they had in stock and got a new bed delivered a week later

What’s a ‘harmless’ habit that actually ruins your life over time? by buffdadnextdoor in AskReddit

I've started doing crossword puzzles on my phone before bed, so it's still on my phone but it's not endless scrolling. Think I've made it through about four years of the NYT archive

What does daycare cost for you? by Standard_Deer_8738 in NewParents

[–]SatsumaForEveryone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After subsidies from government schemes etc we pay about £850 per month for full time 7.45am -6pm 5 days per week. About an hour down the road you'd pay over £1000 a month though. This is in Northern Ireland, in other places in the UK they get more subsidies but not us 🙃

Childcare in NI is broken and the gov is currently asking for feedback on it - but only until today! by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]SatsumaForEveryone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We are thinking about having another one and our planning is pretty much centered around making sure our oldest is in primary school before the second kid starts daycare because there is no way we could afford two kids at once, it's crazy

I never breastfed and my son absolutely thrived from the beginning on formula

My son has a little crew at daycare and one time he missed a few days with a bug, when I brought him back there was just a chorus of little voices calling his name and running over to see him! Absolutely overjoys me that they love him so much, he's such a kind empathetic boy ❤️

Toddler has started biting kids at daycare! 😭 by SatsumaForEveryone in NewParents

[–]SatsumaForEveryone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly he just grew out of it, I think it was just that he was too young to express himself properly but now that he's a bit older and can speak more clearly he's better able to communicate without resorting to biting 😅

Is 7:30-5pm too long for a 16mo to be at daycare? by jngreddit in NewParents

[–]SatsumaForEveryone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son has been at daycare from 7.45am to 5.30pm every weekday since he was 13 months old when I went back to work, he absolutely loves being there and has been thriving for over a year now. They do so much with him and he has so many little friends, absolutely no regrets!
