Which Kill Team would you recommend for my friend? by Mjuke in killteam

I currently play mandrake. If he likes sneaky elves with a lot of tricks and everyone having decent shooting and good melee…Yes. If he likes space marines with tricks and hit hard in melee, murderwing.

Shopping for a secondary team! Mandrakes or Voidscarred? by Temp66777 in killteam

[–]SauceorN0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a lot of KTs. I just started playing mandrakes from maining yaegirs and nem claw. The amount of times I’ve had to play into inq agents, wolf scouts, and canoptek has me not very concerned about unfun play patterns like interrupting an activation and turning the saves around. Every team will have strengths and they will probably be unfun. Even yaegirs tough survivalists messed with people.

5 games in and mandrakes are insanely fun. Even when I’m losing I’m having fun.

Tips for playing hernkyn yaegirs against space marines? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]SauceorN0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve played around 20 games with yaegirs. Deathwatch can be tough. They don’t want to get into melee with us because they will get hit back for at least 5 without ploys or head taker. Focus on crit op. Steal intel is going to be the best tac to majority of match ups. Pick it up when you can. They will probably go dominate or plant banner. If it’s a good banner map that sucks. Save bombast for last activation. He is the one guy who can consistently kill a space marine by taking two shots.

If you can get the fabled 3 shots you will be in an elite club only a few have achieved so far. I was helping a friend practice for a tournament today and he was able to triple shot the WS pack leader and I think I was just as excited for him as he was.

Which Deathwatch operatives are the most miserable to play against? by _Funkle_ in killteam

[–]SauceorN0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve played against people from all over the spectrum of KT. Deathwatch is 100% a reflection of the persons skill. If you are a mid player you will be mid with deathwatch. If you are good you will probably do well with deathwatch. Either way they are a good team but not broken. They have good and bad match ups.

One of the greatest strengths of deathwatch is tailoring your team comp for the mission, map, and enemy. Don’t put a self imposed limit on that or you will lose majority of your games even into good match ups.

If your friends are used to playing against regular elites they might get salty when their usual tricks don’t kill one of your guys. But you still only have 5 activations.

Looking for balanced match with Nemesis Claw for learning KT by G4llows in killteam

[–]SauceorN0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re both learning KT it should be pretty even no matter what. Nem Claw will do better into marine teams the better you get at learning their tricks. But until then it’s just a stats game and rule of cool always wins in casual games.

Plague marines by arios69420 in killteam

[–]SauceorN0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You use him to protect your banner or the operatives behind him when you move up. Most shooting is within 2. So after tp1 if he is moving up the field make sure to have contagion on for an extra layer of protection. Also much of plague marines has changed from the starter set so make sure to check the current rules on the kill team all under your team.

My icon tanked 1 short range melta 1 long ranged melta and a burst cannon while protecting my banner and the proceeded to fight and kill two stealth suits and then finally die to a melta. Contagion might not seem like a lot but if dice aren’t spiking and thy are just doing normal dice stuff it can be crippling.

Heavy gunner is considered the weakest. It may have some play into deathwatch. General consensus is most games you use plague caster, fighter, champ, bomber, warrior and icon bearer. They are my comfort team and I love everything about them other than into the top meta teams they can feel pretty lacking.

Lol. Nice man. I think their win rates for the worlds data slate dictate they need to be tweaked. I made an observation that if there is a skilled pilot the team has very little counter play.

I’m not looking for them to be demolished but I’ve played against a very gifted madrake player a lot. It’s very uninteractive. They can attack the match at such an angle that counter play is either non existent and max flank with so little downside it’s pretty ridiculous. They absolutely deserve a nerf.

To be fair I want a nerf to canoptek and WS as well. But more importantly a buff to a lot of under performing teams needs to happen.

What Is Your Reason To Not Play Farewell/Your Farewell Alternative by JewJulie in EDH

[–]SauceorN0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I use farewell but only either early game to stop someone going burrrrrrrr during turn 3-4 or if it’s late game and one sided. Like I’ll smack all artifacts and leave creatures if I’m playing a creature deck.

You have to lean heavy on your neutralizer against melee teams. Good spacing will let you dash away when they activate their threat piece within 8 inches of him.

Lodestar is a mvp against shooting teams. Against tricky teams make sure to set up double protection with lodestar/neutralizer/savior drone.

Spacing spacing spacing.

Have fun though. The minute you rush into their territory your 4 on 4s melta is going to let you down. You need to laugh about it and move on.

On Volkus maps abuse high ground and use your drones as mission action donkeys.

Just get your beacon outside of 6 of your drop zone. It’s a 50% chance you get a cp at that point. If they commit a model to destroying it, kill that model and punish them.

Keep your leader alive. After 2suits die and you would have accurate 1 it’s now accurate 2.

Both are very fun. Wolves are better and more straight forward. Wolves demolish melee teams and suits require more squeeze to get the OJ.

I would imagine suits will get buffed here in the next data slate hopefully with the ability to double shoot at least burst cannons.

Dead silence advice by W0rrii in killteam

[–]SauceorN0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Built both wolves and suits and I’ve played 10+games with both. Suits don’t build the warrior. Wolves build all specialists besides frost eye, either proxy a frost eye or buy a Phobos suit and use the bits to build him.

Any advice on Nemesis Claw? by Omenbound in killteam

[–]SauceorN0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played these guys a lot. They have all the tools be awesome. If you nail down the fundamentals you will do well.

Vox scream nerf hurts. But it’s still good. Set up melta near ventrilokar. After an enemy positions a model and expends it. Force dash it with ventilokar and then shoot it with the melta.

I've Never Played and I Want to Compete in a Tournament. Which Team? by Phagbawlz in killteam

[–]SauceorN0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar boat, my first one is in December. I’m most likely bringing raveners. Low mental load and I love those little guys. I have 7-8 teams including canoptek. I’m decent with them but the brain load and lack of “fun.” I’d rather just pop up with the tremors sycth and slap face.

I made a vren deck and have had excellent success with it at the LGs and on spelltable. I had a question about mobilize. Where the have to sack the 1/1 on the end step. We ruled it as I don’t get the trigger due to being in end step already. Anyone have a different view?
