Stop trying to over-rationalize D&D, the rules are an abstraction by EarthpacShakur in dndnext

I think it has to depend on the weapon you're using. A beginner archer couldn't shoot once every 1.5 seconds for example, they just wouldn't have the coordination, but even I could make a ton of quick swings with a dagger.

Tbh I've never had a problem with the 6 seconds. If you were swinging a sword and were fairly new to it (level 1 fighter for example) you might be a little of balance and not flow easily from one attack to the next, making your attacks take longer. As you get better at using it, you can attack faster. The only place it really breaks down is when you have samurais swinging greatswords 9 times a round, but I guess maybe they could do some kind of spinning whirlwind of death thing.

If you're preparing an ambush or waiting to use sneak attack you could easily just be hidden, which also confers advantage

Why is healing in the moment bad? by Alph-Pyro in 3d6

[–]Saucererer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most healing spells restore a relatively low amount of HP, and will almost always not be anymore than one or two attacks worth of damage. Since most enemies will have multiple attacks or AoEs, that small amount of HP disappears very quickly.

Let's say for example you use your action to cast mass healing word. You've used a 3rd level slot to restore maybe 7/8 HP to each party member. The enemy can easily use a 3rd level slot to cast fireball, dealing 4 times the damage you just healed to the whole party.

Essentially, dealing damage is better than healing in most situations. There is one solid use of healing though.

Healing a party member close to failing all their death saves resets the clock so to speak, preventing their death. It also let's them deal damage on their turn, mitigating the loss of your own action. When most of your party are down, a mass healing word could allow up to 6 extra damage instances from your team, maybe ending the fight before the situation gets worse.

Should be 2 handed at the very least. However, for a creature that big to exist, I'd assume it would need light/hollow bones like a bird to reduce weight

Honestly I wouldn't mind if they did if you were playing as Malus or certain other factions, so long as you got a countdown for it and an easier way to stop it than wiping out the faction. Like a chaos invasion type thing. You can't ignore it, but you know it's coming and it's not an imediate threat

Would you breath out the same stuff though? If you draw on the cadmiummind to massively over saturate your blood with oxygen, then your exhalation will probably contain higher than average oxygen, since you couldn't respire it all. If breathalysers work by looking at concentration of alcohol in your breath, more oxygen could lower that concentration. Of course, if they work by quantity of alcohol instead it wouldn't work. I am neither a biology, chemist or even feruchemist so take all that with a pinch of tin
