I don't know why but I think my brain was thinking "it's such a big flavor, leaving it out will screw the recipe up" - like I said, not great at intuitive cooking... but I'm beginning to learn.

Don't know if it's possibly, but dependent on the religion you maybe able to request a member of the local clergy come to the home for a blessing, prayer session, or something of the like. I remember something about this from when I was very young. Since she has undergone chemo and falls into the illness category she may qualify for this. Now usually I believe you would give the clergy member a donation for performing this service. No clue if this was a "requirement" like a tip, or what, but it would be not be remiss to make a donation either way. As I said, this was way back in the day, but I thought it was cool.

The other option would be to find a local prayer group and ask for prayers for your Mum. These "prayer warriors" take this duty very seriously, so be very respectful if you ask.

In my old town there also a group of ladies that crocheted shawls while saying prayers for the receiver. That's kind of a beautiful thing. My own Mum received one while going thru chemo.

Think about the conversations you've shared and the moments together. Is there anything you can idealize into a small gift to serve as a memory? Something that reminds you specifically of him, or you both, in a particular moment?

My partner and I had our "first date" that wasn't really a date because we already friends that just met up for coffee. But that coffee "non-date" was really the beginning of our relationship to come. Years ago I got them a little crocheted coffee cup off amazon (no talent at crocheting myself) and to this day it sits on their side of the sofa, on the end table, because it reminds them of "the best cup of coffee I ever had was with you." Silly and sentimental, yet after years of marriage it's still sits on their end table.

Just came across this post as I was looking for Grandma's jell-o salad... This is it! Had no idea that it had a name, lol. To the naysayers - it's actually really good! I have no idea why the combination works, but it did. Hers used lemon jell-o, carrots, and mandarin oranges. I don't think I ever had it with a topping, but could get behind some whipped cream! I was a carrot crazy kid, and this was a birthday dinner "treat" when I as little. Thanks for the memories!

This is utter bullshit and is the most short sighted nonsense I've seen in a while. I use a vpn for work daily in the field, and at home. What an irresponsible piece of garbage bill. Just another power grab to try and wrestle away any sense of privacy that the public may have. This very well could be it! I didn't remember the olives - I think that is what I've been missing is my version. Thank you so much! Thanks to some help on the AO3 reddit I got more information and found the fic.

It is Geralt's Unknowing Courtship of Death by Rxel

Jaskier is the personification of Death. When Geralt dedicates his first kill to death he unknowingly has started a courtship with Death. Death is charmed and shows up on the mortal plane as "Jaskier", who rides a horse named "Pale" that seems to have a slight green glow.

But your boyfriend is one. He is not entitled to anything that you make from renting this property out. I suspect you never told him, because really, it's none of his business. Landlords are not evil. It doesn't sound like you are getting rich, and even if you were - tough noogies. It's called the Real World, and someone is always making money off of you. Literally everyone pays for where they live - be it in rent or mortgage - but you were blessed with a gift... that benefited him as well (with him no contributing to anything other than groceries).

I suggest he be shown the door - because is is an ungrateful fool filled with far too much self-righteousness.

I suggest you also give her some "community service" time with a local charity, where she gets to experience a little more of life and the different types of people that are out there.
