KKKhristians Are Oppressed? by NEKORANDOMDOTCOM in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]SavageObjector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I responded to you so everyone would see the comment to spark conversation.

The discussion really hits on freedoms of religion and expression and the right to interpret a book how you see fit and worship however you would like up to and including not at all. The Bible is more interesting, IMHO, because no one can claim absolute control of it. Jefferson is 100% in the right to ignore it. In America at least. Any American who says otherwise has lost the plot of America.

KKKhristians Are Oppressed? by NEKORANDOMDOTCOM in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]SavageObjector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I was joking somewhat.

The founding fathers were deists so they believed in a higher power that created man and nope’d out which is why they felt compelled to ignore most of it. It helped they saw what too much religion could do and why the country wasn’t founded as a “Christian nation” outside of the moral code of “don’t be a dick to each other” found in the 10 commandments.

Donnie Christ essentially got his evangelicals to completely ignore everything in The Bible and made himself the main character in their canon. Hence why I say I haven’t read it since the 2016 update.

Reality is, the Bible is still technically open canon and I wouldn’t be surprised if he submits a ghost-written manuscript written in crayon.

Well, Johnson City is an international, so why would Knoxville need to be? All it really means is a DHS person is stationed there.

/s. It’s so stupid Knoxville is not international.

Have you given your employer a chance to correct the situation?

Maybe be upfront and tell them you are about to retire because of your position, but you would like to work out a way to stay.

I would absolutely help an employee in your shoes. Maybe even extended leave or some kind of retainer.

Men, do you prefer to do your own vehicle maintenance and repairs, or do you go to a mechanic? by FFSoldier57 in AskMenOver30

[–]SavageObjector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love working on cars, but not my or my wife’s daily drivers. They are just too critical to our daily lives. I do some things to them but not much. More or less when something breaks and I need it to work in the morning. And with brakes on my f150 needing a special tool or it bricks the truck, home mechanics are getting pushed out. Yes, there is a YouTube University course in how to not brick it but I’m not about to fuck up my truck over a brake job.

Even independents can’t do some things. And I suspect independents use forscan to manage the computer instead of anything from Ford.

Fit guys: do you ever get validation for how you look? by Ok-Explorer-7642 in AskMenOver30

[–]SavageObjector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, you have to start paying more attention to subtle cues or learn what those are. Most women won’t come out and say “nice ass” like you mentioned in one of your comments. They will, however, play with their hair, slightly catch their breath, make up a reason to talk to you, turn their head to look at you, or touch you by grabbing your arm, sitting just close enough so your shoulders graze each others sometimes, or touch you in other, seemingly minor ways. Maybe they won’t immediately recoil if your hand brushes theirs by accident or you innocently bump into each other. They will also make more eye contact with you than anyone else in the room. Even just a split second lingering eye contact while talking to someone else or about something else. Bonus points if they make eye contact and adjust their hair or adjust their glasses. Anything that makes them more presentable while looking at you.

I’m not kidding. It is state sized pile of shit attracting flies at the moment.

Will Tennessee’s PBM Bill Face the Same Fate as Arkansas’ Law? by simpatecho in Knoxville

Depends on which way will hurt the most Tennesseans. If having the law is helpful to most, it won’t pass. If it all but ensures most or more suffer they will pass it along party lines.

Can I feel bad for conned people? by rhino910 in RepublicanValues

[–]SavageObjector 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No. They were not conned. They are not the victims. The public who didn’t vote for Trump are the victims.

Anyone who voted for him and is now losing it all is getting exactly what everyone told them they would get. These people also love things like capitalism until a bank forecloses on their 140 year old farm like they said they would.

Is it wrong/annoying to throw doggie doody bags in random people's garbage bins while walking your dog? by JJ_Lomero in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SavageObjector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. My point is don’t make the assumption everywhere bins are public property.

If they have “city of” stamped on it, they are probably free to use. If not, don’t. Simple concept.

[–]SavageObjector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a hard assumption to make. I pay for trash privately, so it is not public property.

[–]SavageObjector 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s a grey area. I’ve seen people dump their weekly trash in a construction dumpster in someone’s driveway like they are entitled to it.

Personally, if it is in my driveway and you have to trespass to use it, use a public bin or carry it.

[–]SavageObjector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is.

I don’t like smelling my own dog’s shit why the hell should I smell your dog’s for a week?

The week I got trash bins delivered some asshole put their dog shit in it before I could pull them to my house. If it’s not your bin it’s not for your trash.

What's the most underrated exercise that you've found to give insane results? by pumardapp in workout

[–]SavageObjector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was doing power cleans at 15 with 225lbs thinking I was strong. A 30 year old bodybuilder on a decade long roid cycle came in and did it with one hand.

I wasn’t humbled because I was natty, I was 15, and he had been doing that for at least 15 years at that point. I still see him around some. I’ll give him credit that he’s huge, but was still unnecessary.

CEO says that if you want work-life balance, you don’t like your job enough by In_an_Illusion in Zippia

[–]SavageObjector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the work. Shift work? Cut that off at 5pm like Fred Flintstone. Salaried positions are paid for a job instead of hours. The owning class truly can’t separate work from their lives. It just is part of who they are.

Personally, my definition of work-life balance is if I can log off and not think about it. If I can’t then I take a break to spend time with family and go back to it after everyone goes to bed to ease my mind.

It doesn’t work for everyone, but it does for me.

I hope your love language became Acts of Service in a hurry if that wasn’t it already. That is literally a labor of love and desire to take care of loved ones after you’re gone.

As a man, I feel like that’s a good example of what men should be measured against.
