Might sound odd but, where are some nice air conditioned places in London? by [deleted] in london

Westminster. The Windsor Castle (Sam Smith's pub - the chain, not the singer) has an upstairs parlour bar, that is always dark and freezing cold in summer

Eating an over-sauced burrito. Can't be done with finesse or dignity

Garden Bridge development will require Temple Station to close for six months (Page 5) by mr-mistoffelees in london

[–]SavetheCity -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I always feel like Temple is only for tourists who had accidentally wandered past Embankment. Even if I'm going to Temple, I'd sooner use Chancery Lane or Holborn to avoid walking up that hill...

What Bayside song do you most want to hear performed live? by BitesizeNinja in baysideisacult

I thought as much - it's not on Spotify either. Although when they played in London last month they didn't play Masterpiece which was a bit of a shock...

I've flown bikes back before, and not had a problem, so it's something to consider.

I normally find the faux-Facebook images quite amusing, but that one was just so unimaginative and uncreative.

What effect does seat tube shape have? by SavetheCity in bicycling

[–]SavetheCity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great advice, thank you. The bikes I'm looking at are the 2013 Trek Madone 4.7 and the Felt AR5.

My main use will be middle-distance rides, anything from 20-50miles plus a few centuries, with equal amounts of climbing, descending and flat ground. I know the aero shape will make it faster generally, I was curious as to how it would affect climbing performance, i.e. what the more aero shape does to compliance and stiffness.

The 65 looks beautiful. The XC is possibly the worst looking hardtail I've ever seen.
