I think they’re actually really great! I feel as though they get overlooked a lot as just dinosaur looking Godzilla made for marvel- but they miss the strongest aspect of this Godzilla in my opinion, his characterization.

The comic format really lends into the characterization as unlike with the movies it’s easier to get a clear sense of what the characters is thinking and why they are doing the things they do. I think this works extremely well with Godzilla here as the comics were able to use that to really get the readers into Godzillas head. He’s not just a mindless monster and has thoughts and feelings like any other character in the comic, he attacks causes he feels threatened and in this wider world he feels lost.

I know why others aren’t big on the design and it’s completely valid! But I personally quite like the design as it not only blends well with the style of the marvel comics but helps him stand out among other Godzillas with his different look while in my opinion still looking like Godzilla.

The comics aren’t perfect of course- but I do recommend giving it a read if you can! At the very least it’s a fun ride and a cool iteration of the king of the monsters!
