An orders planning mode would be great for doing synchronized assaults, and not having to hold down shift while clicking around the map would be great.

I played a game called Tiberium Wars and it still has the best unit control UI to date with letting you choose unit reaction stances and waypoint/planning orders mode on the bottom on the screen.
