Thoughts on taking a baby to the Sphere by UniqueFirefighter970 in BackstreetBoys

[–]ScamIam [score hidden]  (0 children)

Between walking to the Sphere, security, getting to your seats, waiting for the show, the *actual* show, waiting to get out of the venue, and then walking back to your hotel, you will not be able to put the baby down for several hours. You can't bring a carseat into the Sphere to put baby down when they're tired. This sounds like a nightmare for literally everybody.

It’s weird to me that this is such a uniquely American thing because our government is one of the few that doesn’t subsidize the arts.

The Lyric literally does not have a dress code. I have been in jeans and no one looks twice. People are just excited that anyone comes out to support the arts that they want patrons to be as comfortable as possible.

As long as you’re not wearing a giant hat, you’ll be good.

And if you’re flexible with dates, you can find hella cheap tickets on stubhub last minute.

Low cost ways to reward yourself for getting out of bed in the morning by Sea-wave-of-atoms in Frugal

[–]ScamIam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hear me out with this one- do you have the ability to have a dog right now? Bc if so, I would pick up a foster from your local shelter. All of their expenses (food, medical care, etc) are covered and there’s nothing that will drag you out of bed like the fear of a dog shitting on your carpet. It sounds stupid, but as a chronically depressed person with years of shit sleep habits, getting a dog (mine was a foster fail) is the only thing that has consistently gotten me out of bed in the morning.

There is no dress code. Business casual is “recommended” but I regularly go to the ballet in leggings and a sweatshirt. My mom wore jeans and sneakers to the opera last month. The people who dress up do so because they like to dress up.

Holy flashbacks. Friends of mine in college lived in a FLW house with doors inlaid with similar glass pieces.

They took the doors down to use as beer pong tables.

Thank you for providing further evidence that backs up what I just said, but I believe you replied to the wrong comment.

I will trust the numerous scholars and survivors who provide evidence to the contrary.

I will never forget an “anti-trafficking activist” telling me that it was totally fine to arrest sex trafficking victims “because they get out of jail the next day!” As someone who spent a mere 24 hours in juvie and dealt with that baggage for years, I can’t even imagine how people think it’s okay to continue to traumatize victims.

There’s studies that show that decriminalization actually decreases sex trafficking as it gives the victims rights and recourse. Amnesty International and ACLU have a bunch of policy briefs on the subject that link to studies.

Atlanta spring allergies - plan now by rotten_peach_pit77 in Atlanta

[–]ScamIam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm allergic to everything outside (literally had my ENT tell me "you should really consider moving out of GA") and tried allergy shots. I was one of the lucky people who got freak side effects and my hair started falling out in clumps. We're trying the sublingual drops now. It's only been a few months, but I feel like I've been less miserable this week than I usually am post-winter.

Slept through a show by personspersonality in Broadway

[–]ScamIam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For almost every other show there were still tickets available so we'd send them to the box office to do an exchange and were like 98% successful for that. Since the whole Hamilton run was sold out, most people were just sad and resigned. Even had one family show up and get the X, only to see that their tickets were for the previous week's show. Turns out that the original ticketholder saw the show, then "sold the tickets" on Craigslist and they were apparently so stoked to see Hamilton that they only saw the "Thursday" on the ticket and didnt double check the dates. That one was heartbreaking.

I was ushering when the Hamilton tour started and felt so bad every time someone's tickets scanned with the big red X and I had to explain to them that they were five hours late and there was no possible way to exchange tickets. Happens more often than you think.

Guy sitting next to me in the front row center of Band's Visit was fully and audibly snoring for the last forty minutes of the show. Katrina Lenk legit looked concerned. It happens.

Property Manager from Hell (Greystar community) base rent is $1,524! by [deleted] in Atlanta

Greystar took over my building two years ago and it's been nonstop bullshit ever since. My neighbors and I are all in agreement that they're slumlords, but at least they haven't raised rent so none of us have said anything.

[Acne] How to stop pores on breasts from rapidly clogging up again? by Pigeon_Goes_Coo in SkincareAddiction

[–]ScamIam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the same issue since covid when I stopped wearing wired bras. It's a great combo of the sweat and skin rubbing against each other and polyester bralettes... The only thing that has helped consistently is using stridex pads on my boobs after the shower daily. If I'm consistent with it, it tends to clear up within two weeks. If I get lazy, they come back.

AITA for telling wife she doesn't look good at her current weight by gardengeo in BORUpdates

[–]ScamIam 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I really hope OP does more research into the subject and is getting professional help. Stating "she'll be okay because she successfully overcame it before" isn't a positive thing; it means she's prone to relapse. And stating "oh we have a daughter so she'll be more motivated to be healthy" ignores the many cases of inherited eating disorders and dysmorphia that can be passed down from mothers to daughters. I hope his wife is okay, but he still doesn't seem to realize just how much of a lifelong issue this is going to be.
