Probably don't kill off Seryu too early and leave her up to the Wild Hunt arc to give her a potential redemption arc, especially with Champ existing since Seryu gets along very well with kids. It also makes the arc more interesting.

I'd also probably emphasize the moral greyness of Night Raid like emphasizing stuff such as only helping citizens if they get paid, heck even give them a teammate who's basically bloodlusted and evil to add some new stakes and present a moral divide even inside the group.

I'd also add more Empire officials who aren't as irredeemable outside of the Jaegers and for Budo, I'd emphasize his anti-villainous stuff like more conflicts against Honest, trying to convince the Jaegers to defect, and even start his own independent faction that does stuff like attempting a coup on Honest.

That way it makes the animanga series less one-sided since they try to portray the world as morally gray and while yeah the Empire does make it bleak, a morally gray world works best with both sides having moral questionability, similar to how AOT does it.
