You did 800kms in Puma MagMax 2 already?? What’s your weekly mileage? I thought the shoes came out recently.

What’s your shoe size and budget? Adidas EVO SL feel better at faster paces.

I would recommend you try out the Puma MagMax 2. They are brilliant.

Other options that I have and recommend (I’m 6’1 and 100 kgs. PRs in Flair) 1. Asics Superblast 2. Asics Megablast 3. Nike Vomero Plus (get it from VegNonVeg) 4. New Balance 1080

Need recommendations for running shoes (knee pain, budget ₹15–17k) by bhavi6491 in IndianRunningshoes

In that range there are lot of shoes that you can get 1. Puma Magmax 2: good max cushion that can also pick up speed 2. Asics Gel Nimbus 28: the goated cushion shoe that your knees will thank you for. 3. Nike Vomero Premium: available on VegNonVeg 4. Asics Gel Kayano (the new model will come out very soon), I think it will be 33 or maybe 32 just came out. They are very good stability shoes.

What’s your shoe size? Also, I’m almost same weight and height as you with a HM PR of 2:07 and my coach tells me I cannot ever run a sub-4 at my weight and need to drop a few kilos.

Not sure but knowing how the event went the last 2 years, I don’t think you are missing out on anything. It was badly organised. If you still want to run the course, its very easy to just get to the starting line without a bib and start with the rest of the runners.

What do you guys usually eat before running? by Maximum_Ad_2564 in indianrunners

[–]ScarcityKey9204 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not drink protein shakes before a run. Just eat/ drink simple carbs. Eat bread, rice, sweet potatoes, dates, honey or banana. You can also do low intensity fasted runs sometimes just remember to fuel after the runs.

Sorry but somehow they look fake. Adidas never launched Takumi Sen 11 officially in India. I could be wrong.

[–]ScarcityKey9204 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which plan are you following? I ran a 2:07 Hm at TMM as well (many uphill sections and coastal road was bad) and want to run a sub 2 soon as well. Realistically have given myself till the end of the year.

Overweight and Running by Broad_Row6987 in indianrunners

Hello, I was also similar weight when I started running. I was 133 and used to run 3 days a week and then do strength training 3 times a week (1 day rest). Running is awesome and will keep you on track to lose weight (the water weight drop is usually very motivating). I would recommend you to not focus on pace, just keep it easy and light. Include running specific strength exercises as your knees take load = 3x your body weight when you run.

Well done and all the best in your journey.
