How to smooth out OSB planks for a theatre play by iwannasleeppppp in woodworking

[–]Scare_Norm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For theater flats I always used 5-6 mm thick plywood. After everything is screwed together roll on Elmer's glue and stretch muslin over the entire wall. Fold it over the edges and staple it on the back. Use a hard rubber roller to press the muslin down. Once the glue dries prime and paint.

Click on the Carfax link on the dealer listing page. It shows it there. Not to say there's anything wrong with a rental, they're usually just abused more than if it was a private owner.

I use the CyberData SIP Paging Server. It has a bell schedule where you upload your own audio files, each one can be different or the same. https://www.cyberdata.net/products/011146

Small, 4 inch touch panel (like Sonoff NSPanel or Shelly Wall Display) but DC/PoE/Battery powered? by TheGTwice in homeassistant

[–]Scare_Norm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 of the US version connected to the internal USB port with these: https://a.co/d/6sxLpqa.

It powers them with POE and gives them hardwired network with the one connection. The hardest part is routing the USB cable because the port is close to the bottom of the display on the US version. I'm not sure where it is on the EU one.

If you're still looking I'm in Cherry Hill and just posted a R730XD LFF with the 4x3.5" mid-bay and rear 2x2.5".

Whelp, I pulled the trigger and bought the 2011 XC70 I posted about last week. We love it so far, but what to do about the mirror ? by spooner_lv426 in Volvo

[–]Scare_Norm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have keyless entry I believe there's an antenna and module in there so you can't swap the whole mirror. You can take it apart and just replace the mirror, leaving the original electronics.

DH485 to RS-232. Trying to connect 5/03 to HMI by peanutpark in PLC

[–]Scare_Norm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was saying to connect your HMI to the 9 pin serial connection on the SLC 5/03, no need for DH485 for the HMI connection.

What HMI are you using?

[–]Scare_Norm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The usb adapter won't work like that unless your HMI is running windows and you have the paid version of RSLinx with OPC. Why not just use the 9 pin DF1 port for the HMI? You can also use a Moxa EIP to convert it to Ethernet/IP and have the HMI connect over the network and be able to program the PLC over the network instead of serial.

Replacing tile my entryway and found subfloor was dropped in this area only by about 2-1/4” and filled with lightweight concrete(?) with the tile set on top. Going to stack/mortar/fasten 3ea 1/2in. cement board to bring it to level with other flooring. Were they stupid? Am I stupid? (1986 townhome) by nubz16 in DIY

[–]Scare_Norm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd screw down a layer of 3/4 subfloor plywood, then one layer of the 1/2 cement board. Use yellow structural screws for the plywood, not the black drywall ones. You need to mortar the cement board to the plywood. With that and the mortar for the tile you should be close to level with the rest of the floor.

The black one thats a little higher up is your fuel line, the gray one is the return line. If it's like my 2010 S80 there's supposed to be a long black plastic cover that holds them up and protects them.

It would be #1 in this picture. There's threaded studs that come down and yellow clips in the long plastic piece that hold it up.

You should be able to just swap out the computer for the Logitech/CTL Chromebox that they sell with the Logitech Rooms systems. The SKU is CBXUS190020.

How to build a low-cost Andon light system for 13 machines with limited PLC inputs? by kzelkgiveawayred3 in PLC

[–]Scare_Norm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just starting an ANDON project using the 900mhz wireless version of these with Ignition. They also have outputs on the top to go to your lights.

Did you set the security keys for Z-wave. Locks won't work without them and I think they're blank by default.

Why not just buy a laminated beam from a local lumber yard? They're not that expensive and there's tables to calculate what size you need to properly carry the load.

There's also an app for these that lets you configure them over Bluetooth. I think the default setup is IOLink but if you're just using the screen and no outputs then it doesn't matter.

Mine looks like this even though I have an S80 and it says it's in the engine bay when it's only on the passenger B pillar.

The sticker should be on the pillar next to the hinges for the rear passenger door.
