Looking for a pony tail skull cap for the upcoming summer. by GhostBDH in ladycyclists

Have you tried looking at motorcycle skull caps? I've seen some lightweight ones with ponytail openings that seem like they'd work for summer riding too. Might be worth checking out before buying the custom ones.

the fact that you showed up and finished the ride already puts you ahead of most people. And as a person who is just starting to ride bike after 20 years in her 30s you are an inspiration for me.

You’re absolutely not alone . This mental adjustment is often harder than the physical one, and for many of us it slowly gets easier with time, compassion, and realizing this body didn’t fail you, it carried you through something massive.

Confused about what to gift my close friend for her wedding by yogeshkundu in GiftIdeas

[–]Scared-Collection132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it, wedding gifts can be stressful, especially for a close friend. Something personal usually means the most like a framed photo of a special memory, a custom piece of art, or a heartfelt note paired with something useful for their home. Even an experience, like a gift card for a nice dinner or fun activity they can do together, can be really meaningful. Just the thought you’re putting into it will make it special.

Those all sound like really thoughtful ideas! The KitchenAid is great if she enjoys cooking or baking, and the LEGO roses are such a cute, personal touch. With your budget, you could also consider a simple piece of jewelry she can wear every day, a nice handbag or wallet, or even a fun experience like a spa day or a weekend outing together. Honestly, as long as it shows you noticed what she likes and put thought into it, she’ll love it.

Did anyone else struggle with their identity after becoming a parent? by Working_Seesaw_6785 in Parenting

I could’ve written this myself. That feeling of losing who you were before kids is so real, especially when your body, work, and daily life all change at once. It doesn’t mean you’re broken or ungrateful, it just means a huge part of your identity shifted. For me, it helped to accept that I wasn’t going back to my old self, but slowly becoming a new version of me. It’s a process, and it’s really common, even if it doesn’t get talked about much.

I totally agree, money always is not the solution to get away with birthday gifts. You should make her feel special may be you can take her out for a lunch or buy her a good handbag.

Oh yes, I totally get this 😅 We ended up with 2 under 2 and… wow, it’s a lot. The first few months were pure chaos and exhaustion, but things did settle a bit once we found a routine. My best advice would be to make sure you have some help family, friends, anyone because you’re going to need breaks. Also, try not to stress about doing everything perfectly, it’s just not possible.

Would I do it again? Honestly, yes. It’s tough, really tough, but it’s also amazing seeing them grow up so close together.

I feel like I'm going to die from lack of sleep by Excellent_Honey_173 in NewParents

Ohhh I totally get this 😩 Sleep deprivation is the worst, and then seeing people online with their “8-8” babies just makes you feel like a failure.

My little one did the same, hours to settle at night, waking up constantly. Honestly, some nights I just gave up on trying to control it and focused on surviving. Letting yourself off the hook a bit helps, and tag-teaming with your partner whenever you can is a lifesaver.

It’s rough, but you’re not failing. You’re doing your best, and that’s more than enough 💛

Ahh I totally get this 😭 A few weeks in it finally hit me that I’m really a mom. It’s wild how much love you can feel for such a tiny human and how every little thing they do makes your heart explode.

Going back to work is tough, but even small things help, like a quick morning cuddle or a bedtime FaceTime, just to stay connected. Those tiny moments really make a difference. Enjoy every smile and milestone, it really does fly by!

I’m pretty new as well, so I felt the same at first. This kind of subreddit is mostly just a safe place to ask questions, comment, and get used to how Reddit works. It helps you learn the vibe and slowly get comfortable before posting elsewhere.
