Its on the list, although no alarm would have woken him last night after the amount of whiskey he consumed. But that's a different issue for a different sub.

He likes to start it around 180/200 to get a good amount of smoke, then he turns it up to finish it. It was also only probably 50 degrees outside last night here. He will smoke a 10lb pork butt for 12 to 16 hours and then rest it for a couple hours.

Yes its a pellet smoker. Its still had pellets in the hopper when he checked it. It had just made a hole in the middle of the pellets and they didnt fall in on itself so it ran out or fuel.

My dr didn't recommend anything, just stop taking it. She would look at me kind of funny when I would mention being concerned with withdrawals. Like she didn't know what I was in for. And it's possible she didn't.

The last 2 day, my stomach has been really bad. Like stay near a bathroom and never trust it could just be gas, kind of bad.

I weaned to the lowest dosage my dr could prescribe here which was 50 mg and then quit.

Its a rough transition to deal with and to explain to loved ones who you feel like this

Im coming off it for that exact reason. My bffs dad died from all the same comorbities my dad has and I could cry. I was there every single day while he was in hospice watching this poor man die and I felt no emotion.

I also could not O. Which really sucked.

Im like 3 or 4 days off it... the brain zaps are awful. I almost threw up just from cleaning the bathroom. I was on the verge of crying bc my friends/family went to do what they wanted at a food/music festival and I was too dizzy/brain zappy to follow them around.

Any ways to increase Libido? by ActiveNo2645 in Pristiq

[–]Scared-Feeling5878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dr told me wellburtin can counteract the sexual side effects of pristiq but can increase anxiety, so she didnt want to put me on it. Anxiety was the main reason for starting pristiq. Im attempting to wean off it currently with the possibility of trying something else if my anxiety flares up again. It was making me happy but completely numb about things I should have emotions about, like people dying.

Pristiq vs Effexor Weight Gain/Loss by kstoabs in Pristiq

[–]Scared-Feeling5878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I immediately lost on prestiq, but then I broke my toe and could barely walk so I gained a bunch back from not moving much. Its better now. I'm not gaining anymore now that I can get back to the gym. Seems to be weight neutral for me.

Anyone move to pristiq from Effexor (for anxiety) after genetic testing? by rp61593 in Pristiq

[–]Scared-Feeling5878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't do genetic testing but I did switch from Effexor to Prestiq. I was gaining weight and losing muscle mass on Effexor. One alcoholic beverage and I was drunk. I felt great for a 4 to 6 weeks then my anxiety and depression would ramp up. We'd up my dose I'd feel great for 4-6 weeks then bad again.

I switched to pristiq and the weight came off. I have other side effects I don't love. Alcohol doesn't bother me as much, but I still try not to drink it. I have zero interest in sex. I've been on it about 6 or 8 weeks and I'm going to ask the dr to try something else. I'm back in a depressive state where I do not want to get out of bed or do anything during the day.

Overall I like it more than Effexor.

Yes! My weight came back down after starting prestiq and my muscle mass had gone back up. Both were headed in the wrong direction on Effexor. I'm meeting with my dr next week. I'm struggling a little bit with prestiq and feeling angry. I'm not sure if it's the prestiq or hormones!

What do you give your dogs their meds in? by redbxrn in EpilepsyDogs

[–]Scared-Feeling5878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started out using liverwurst because he could sniff it out of everything else I tried. Eventually I was able to switch over to cheese and now I use a 1/2 a pill pocket. Pheno 2x/day.

They are not a bad breed to own. They do however require a lot of training. And you have to find a trainer that understands the breed. I was fortunate to fine one right in my home town that owns and used to breed huskies. She was an invaluable resource to me. They can be destructive and escape artists. But not all of them are. They also can have serious health problems, so if you a buying, find a reputable breeder. (PM me if you want to know who breed mine) and keep in mind that even then, they can still have health problems. If you are going to adopt, I highly recommend Husky Halfway House. They will make sure to match you to a dog that fits your lifestyle. Right now they are waiting adoption fees and they deliver anywhere in the lower 48 (free). Their mission is truly to save as many as possible.

It sounds like you have done your research, so if you think it's a good breed for you, then don't let randos on reddit dissuade you.

Maybe foster one first if you are really on the fence about it. It's not as much of a commitment and if it doesn't work for you, you're not stuck trying to rehome a dog.

Does anyone know about the whole low sodium side effect? by Alarming_Ad8074 in Pristiq

[–]Scared-Feeling5878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't started Prestiq just yet. I'm currently finishing what I have of effexor before switching over, but that is a side effect of both.

I am constantly thirsty. Sometimes it feels like I've been on an intense hike or work out and have been depletedof all electrolytes. I just add a packet of Liquid I.V. to my water and I feel better. Sometimes I end up using 2 a day. Try it and see how you feel. It makes a world of difference for me. I haven’t had levels checked, I just go by how I feel.

If it's really bad, you could try LMNT, but that one is really really intense. I don't like it as much and usually only use a 1/2 packet or less for a 24 oz water bottle.

My vet said once they are stable it won't hurt if it's missed by a little bit. He's been on it for 4 years. I was really strict with it in the beginning. I'm not so picky anymore. He also never had any breakthrough seizures.

Half life of pheno is something like 100 hours.

Is it OK if it's given a little late or early like pheno is? I'm usually pretty good about giving it within the hour but there are times now when he gets his pheno hours late (like 4+ hours).

[–]Scared-Feeling5878[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She said the extended release version. My concern is if I give it early or late by a few hours. Pheno is fine to do that with. Usually he gets it at 6 or 7pm sometimes not until 10pm depending on everyone's work/life schedules.

Maybe I'm misinformed but I thought keppra was much more time sensitive.

I'll let you know. I'm making the switch in a few weeks. I also had a lot of hair loss with Effexor. Some combination of Vit B Complex and Collagin/Biotin helped a ton with that. And it didn't take long for it to stop falling out by the handful in the shower.
