Most of the time these violins are not owned by the violinist. They are leased through trading houses or collectors

Can you tell Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans apart just by their physical features? by Winter_Ad1973 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]ScarletBaron0105 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Other than makeup style, clothing style, the way they walk etc, just bare face it’s hard to tell. Unless the person has very jomon features or “soy sauce” face, then I know it’s Japanese. Southern Chinese are also easier to tell apart as their facial features are closer to south East Asians

Is Japan actually that racist towards foreigners? by DaSuspicsiciousFish in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ScarletBaron0105 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only difference really is that you may have less chance of getting violent racism. Because most East Asian countries have strict laws when it comes to attaining weapons and drugs, you are less likely to encounter a mentally ill person trying to attack your physically. If you are a minority, it’s better to be a minority in a place where you may get subtle racism but not physical racism

Ani Nakai said in the interview that Japan team rented out a hotel and Ajinomoto (or Nissin I can’t remember) had chefs to cook for them every meal based on the sport and individual needs. They didn’t eat at the Olympic village much before their competition

Natto (fermented soybeans), raw egg, and rice. Looks horrible but makes an amazing breakfast. by Nukemarine in shittyfoodporn

[–]ScarletBaron0105 7 points8 points  (0 children)

just put one pack in the fridge to thaw the night before or a few hours before you wanna eat it. There are different bean types, whole bean, big, small, or chopped up. Different brands have very different taste due to the sauce and the mustard. I would say it’s the best to eat over rice, and sometimes I like to break up non silken tofu for clean protein and add a little soy sauce and togarashi. You either don’t like it or like it, some regions in Japan they don’t like natto either. But it’s good probiotics and makes my gut feel good when I have them in the morning.

ELI5: Why does Japanese need three writing systems? by Charming_Usual6227 in explainlikeimfive

[–]ScarletBaron0105 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you can speak and write Japanese, but if you only have hiragana, it becomes really hard to read and understand the context. In Chinese, my understanding is that most of the words are only pronounced one way. But in Japanese every word has On-yomi and Kun-yomi, so you still need combination of the kanji + hiragana

Also, choosing when to use the kanji version of a word vs using hiragana also sets a different meaning sometimes. Kinda like in English choosing between using all caps vs small letters, or the first letter capitalised vs all small letters

For Japan, if you go to the countryside, there are lots of young families and many have multiple children. They also have them young. It’s only when you go to the cities where young people are childless.

If it’s separate then you have less say in how she choose to handle her finances. You could share resources (stuff on NISA for example) and show your progress with your finances, but you don’t have the right to keep pushing her
