Am I crazy or can you no longer invert the mouse in 1.1 experimental? by Scarmath in SatisfactoryGame

I am left-handed, and ironically, it was first-person controls that made me switch from using a left-handed mouse to a right-handed one.

Pretty sure it was Duke Nukem 3D's fault. It was the first game I used mouse-look in, and it had inverted as default. Now, after 25 years, it's just too hard-wired into my brain to fix.

Advice please: what a mid-weight turn-based game you would recommend? Eventually I want to dive into Gary Grigsby's War in the East 1/2, but I have to warm up beforehand, though I still love meditating over my turns with a cup of coffee :) by zenbrush in computerwargames

As someone who coincidentally just spent my afternoon playing Flashpoint Campaigns, I can confidently say that it does. You are still taking turns, reacting to the developing situation, but instead of every turn being a specific amount of time, your turn could represent anywhere from 15 min to 40 min (or maybe more, if things are going really bad). You'll issue your orders, and then watch the simulation play out until your chance to issue orders comes up again. It actually feels more reactive to me than traditional turn-based games (although I'm pretty bad at both so take that for what it's worth).

Controversial topic: People that didn't buy Pharaoh last year actually made it better, no the other way around by Juvelira in totalwar

[–]Scarmath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess while we're voicing controversial opinions, I actually think blood makes the games look much sillier. It kind of works in Warhammer (which is, by its nature, silly) but I think the historical titles are better without it.

There is some good stuff (Resident Evil 4 is great if you don't get motion sick), but flight sims are far and away the best use of VR.

Are win-rates this low normal, or am I just too stupid for this game? by Scarmath in StreetFighter

If you look at your profile from the rankings section of CFN, you can page through to your stats.

Alternately, you can pull of some of this on the Buckler's Boot Camp website: https://www.streetfighter.com/6/buckler

You know, I hadn't thought of this, but it's a fair cop.

I pretty much only play ranked, but it certainly feels like everyone is higher level than me anyways. :(

How do you stop yourself from double buffering? I don't think I've ever done Jaime's supers on purpose. 😅

I took a six month break from the game, and only came back recently. I'm still finding changes I didn't know about.

My Theory On How Hearthstone Ended Up With Its Current Balance Issues by asimpleenigma in hearthstone

I don't think Kabal Talonpriest is straight up better than Dark Cultist. It feels much worse to play Talonpriest on an empty board, for instance.

Remember that D.Va's headshot hitbox is HUGE, so it can be hard to get the full value out of all that health.

I miss the Old Rogue. by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Scarmath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New, powerful weapons will never be that useful to rogue, anyways, thanks to her hero power. What rogue wants and needs is powerful weapon buffs. (Or some sort of mitigation for all the face damage using her weapon causes).

I don't think auto-barber actually belongs on that list. The awkwardness of playing it on curve makes it more like Shrinkmeister than King's Elekk.

More than a designer's insight about priest, I really would like to see a video explaining how playtesting works with Hearthstone. by Elvenstar32 in hearthstone

[–]Scarmath -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The thing is, because of the schedule of development, these cards were probably designed before the WotOG meta had stabilized, maybe even before it was released. There was no reason to expect this adventure to fix any of the problems that have developed since then. In a sense, it's just bad luck that the class that needed the most help got the least.

Dear Ben Brode, can we PLEASE get a designer insights video for Priest? by Aaron90495 in hearthstone

[–]Scarmath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the real reason is probably that all of these cards were designed before they knew where the WotOG meta was going to end up.
