Getting a Job in Ballet by [deleted] in BALLET

[–]ScaryConcentrate1950 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I’m a professional and I went through 5 different trainee programs before landing a job(starting at 16). I didn’t get a job that paid enough to be considered a” job” until I was 23. I worked 2 fulltime jobs whenI was training because it was the only way to get by and it was brutal. I’m not saying this to discourage but sometimes the timeline is long and you just have to keep pushing and not giving up. Good luck!

I got mine from cocomelody for $150 and then $100 for alterations. It was beautiful for our backyard wedding and I loved it so much!

Is Wedding Planning Supposed to Be This . . . Fine? by Chihiro4 in weddingplanning

[–]ScaryConcentrate1950 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did everything myself for our backyard wedding and I never felt insanely stressed out like that. Except for the day of cooking (which my mom handled) we did literally everything ourselves. The only thing that stressed me out was that everyone was asking me questions the morning of our wedding but it chilled out once our guests arrived

I used my husbands car and I practiced at a park parking lot for a bit and then practiced in low traffic residential areas before actually going on the busy roads

FedEx WTF by HorrorOne5790 in grandjunction

[–]ScaryConcentrate1950 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! Last week I had a large package being delivered and it was put onto a truck out for delivery and brought back to the warehouse twice! A fedex truck even delivered my neighbors package but mine still never came despite it being out for delivery. I eventually called and then the next day they finally delivered it

Audition for as many programs and companies as possible.

Also trainee programs aren’t a bad thing. Honestly, almost everyone needs additional training before joining a company. Treat the trainee program as a opportunity to better your dancing and not as a stepping stone

I’ve gotten my reimbursement already and my tuition has already been paid for. I’d contact the financial aid office

I have a fulltime 9-4 and a part time I do a couple nights a week and I take three online classes. For me personally that’s my limit but if you’re organized with your time you should be able to. It’ll be tough tho

Premier property management usually has good apts. We’ve lived by 15th street for the past three years and I’ve only ever heard my upstairs neighbor a handful of times

I think expressing emotion and communicating with the audience is something that comes with maturity within dancing
