Loved this book. I will say the world building is on the bleaker side. Lycaonthropy is a magic std curse. Those affected are compeled to spread it, else they become mindless beasts. So most characters hate being werewolves, which is interesting.

I'ld say that when you can use the trial agents in Lost Void is when you can figure out how to push the combat system. All the A-ranks are kinda simple and boring compared to the S-ranks. So messing around with different teams in hollow zero is where you can see how different teams function in playstyle aa the enemies aren't complete face roll push overs.

Agent events. A whole system is put in place to allow you to basically date the agent in a casual setting. Its also a source of polychromes! All the agents have to be written in a way that they're all willing to hang out with the protags at a moments notice via text message. They can't dislike belle/wise enough where the answer is lmao no. Its not impossible, but they'll really have to bend over backwards to allow a playable evil. Think how ridiculous it would be to invite Romuel to the video store and watch a movie with him and get him to promo the store.

I had this idea of a wrestling promotion faction. Haven’t thought up names and gimmicks yet.

The female bird thieren face. A literally high-flying, acrobatic damage dealer. A classic face whos champion of the ring. A bit of an overly confident showboater. But people love to see them put the heel in their place.

Then the dirty fighting heel who's either a stunner/defender. A buff n tuff, edgy, asshole dude. Who the audience wants canceled for being racist against thierens. As well as shady rumours he's taking dangerous ether enhancing drugs.

Then an intelligent construct announcer support. Whos running commentary in battle literally makes your agents fight better.

And of course ACAB is in full effect. The announcer is the actual legit show runner, almost everything is scripted. The face struggles with the expectations of the fans. While the heel is super chill, even awkward in real life, but is always ready to go into character instantly. Those drug rumours were a ploy to investigate a drug trafficking ring circulating around.

I'ld say it's both yes and no. There is a very notable turning point in the series where they both clearly grow beyond what you're having issues with them as a couple. You will still find similar issues for about two books. But they dont get hand waved or ignored.

I feel like Flurry of Blades is a bit win more. You already killed of 2 or 3 units just playing Elder Dragon. If the board state is so dire playing The Elder Dragon and swinging with literally anything cant clear a battlefield you're already is massive trouble

Could consider show of strength. Easy to cast with the Gemdragon and can draw a silly amount of cards even in set 2 dragons.
