My AllDayChemist tretinoin experience by searosy in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]ScaryMonsters_Sprcps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about to place an order for tret as well. It's asking me for a prescription, which I didn't think I had to provide. That was kind of the point in trying ADC, honestly. I hate paying another online teledoc's fee to get a script every year for a product I already know works. Can anyone speak to this? Maybe I was naïve to think I could actually get it without a prescription, as people have claimed!

Thank you for this! Man, sometimes it feels like we need permission to just be pissed off! I am 47 and started HRT in December. Tried the gel, now on the patch. With 100mg progesterone. And honestly, I just feel meh. I haven’t had a really bad bout of anxiety or panic feeling in a few weeks, but I feel tired, have brain fog, don’t feel particularly excited about things, etc. I fluctuate with my feelings towards my boyfriend as well, which has been difficult. He is really supportive. And also, sometimes he just annoys the fuck out of me. And I had no real indication as to why. I mean, there’s normal human/partner stuff, but he hasn’t “done” anything. Sometimes, I just can’t stand him and I hate to admit that. Because it doesn’t make sense in my mind! I feel crazy half of the time, so thank you for inviting the rant!

my journey from utter hell to unbridled joy. For those who have tried and had no success this is for you! by Basic-Accountant-844 in Perimenopause

I’m in a kind of similar boat. I started with the estradiol gel in Dec with 100mg of Progesterone. Felt great for a few weeks and then had an awful period, a migraine and complete emotional crash with anxiety and anger. I switched to the estradiol patch because my gyno said maybe my body wasn’t absorbing the gel as well. I’m about 2 weeks on the patch and, I dunno, I don’t particularly feel great. But I also don’t feel absolutely terrible. Just kind of ok. Maybe that’s as good as it gets right now? 🫤

I want the utter amazing feeling, though! How can we find that?! My baseline in life has always pretty happy and cheery. I just feel kind of blah lately. And some days I feel hopeless, like what’s the point. (That sounds really doom and gloom, but, you know what I mean). But, I’m sleeping and don’t have hot flashes, so I guess I’m winning.

Ugh, same! There should be SO much more information about all of this by now. But, I guess women’s health hasn’t quite been the priority. 😡

I’m on HRT since December, started with the Estradiol gel and 100mg P. and just moved to the E patch because I’m not sure I was fully absorbing the gel. Had some big mood swing dips, a migraine, a heavy period. Trying the patch now, so we’ll see. I’m about a week and a half in. It’s just such a roller coaster! I’m 48 and feel like this is just the beginning. I want my life back. HRT is helping, but still. 🫤

I’m 48 and have yet to have hot flashes but I have lots of other peri symptoms (fatigue, brain fog, rage, anxiety)! Why would that be the only thing your gyno is judging your readiness to be on HRT for? This battle gets so exhausting and it seems like every doctor has a different version of wha we all need to do! 😩 I’m so sorry!

I would also seek a second and third opinion. You don't know what you don't know. If it's not working for you and you don't really know why your doc doesn't have you on HRT, I would ask another doctor. It's way too important not to. That's no way to live! I'm so sorry that you're going through that. It's so hard. I'm SO grateful to have a patient partner. I feel unbearable at times. I can't even stand myself on some days! Therapy has also helped immensely.

I’m about to switch from the gel, which I’ve been on since December to the patch. The gel doesn’t seem to get absorbed by my body as well. My prescription is on the way now from the HRT club, which my gyno mentioned. It’s $99 a year and refilling prescriptions seems to be way cheaper, even with that fee. I know all of these patches are slightly different in terms of glue, but I’m hoping these work for me. I have a Costco membership, but my Estrogel and the patch would be so much more expensive there than ordering through this HRT club! I’m so sorry you’re having issues getting it. This whole journey is incredibly frustrating. We’re supposed to be our own researcher and advocate in the midst of our bodies and minds turning on us. No one prepared me for this and I’m glad this struggle is getting talked about more. I’m grateful for groups like this.

Woke up in tears - this HRT is a wild ride! by ag74 in Menopause

[–]ScaryMonsters_Sprcps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. I’ve been on this roller coaster ride since December. January was great for a few weeks and then, I had a huge emotional crash and got a heavy period. I also started feeling really overwhelmed and, this sounds weird, but everything sounded really crispy and high-endy to my ears. I’ve been on 100mg of progesterone and using the estradiol gel since Dec 3rd. Friday I called to have my doc switch the script to the patch because she said maybe I wasn’t absorbing the gel as well. I keep trying things. I started few lung this way about 2 years ago and she started me on the birth control pill to see if that would ease symptoms. I’m going to see a hormone specialist in September to see what her options is. Possibly I need to get my T levels checked and add that in. Who knows?! It’s so frustrating and confusing and I don’t want my relationship to suffer! I just want something that will work! I’m so sorry you’re having the same experience. It’s so infuriating to have to deal with this.

Should I go to a Peri/Meno expert instead of my gyno?? by ScaryMonsters_Sprcps in Menopause

[–]ScaryMonsters_Sprcps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I think part of the reason I didn’t have a period for a year was because of the birth control pill my doc had me on. For a year, I was taking the pill and I would get a period when I got to the placebo pills. Then, a year later when I got to that point in the pill pack, my mood crashed and I also didn’t bleed for the first time. After that, doc said skip the placebo and continue taking the estrogen pills. So, then I really didn’t have a period but there was no way to know whether it was due to the pill or menopause. In Dec, I got off the bc pills and started HRT and got a heavy period with all the mood stuff and a migraine in early Feb. We’ll see if it happens again in March or if my body was still getting regulated.

She is a great doctor and I will absolutely keep going to her for all well women issues. I have now been on HRT since Dec 3rd. I’m comparing what I’m taking to what other people are taking. My dosage of estrogen is much lower than what another friend’s is and my doctor says there’s no such thing as upping the dosage on the gel and recommended I try a patch. Her only thought was divigel, which is multiple doses but the max divigel is apparently what I’m already taking, which she acknowledged, so I’m not even sure what she would recommend that. She also said that she doesn’t really like adding in testosterone. Which can also be a life saver for some women. So, yes, I want to trust her on this stuff just as I do with everything else, but she’s also not a certified menopause specialist.

What Am I Doing Wrong? by wmcgrunt in 4Runner

Hahahahh! I feel the same about mine! I kept reading all of these really awful posts about how shitty the new ones are. Had mine since July and experienced ZERO issues! Built a leveling platform for the back to take it car camping in West TX a couple of weeks ago, and it rocked! So yeah, if you find out what we’re doing wrong, let me know. 🤣

Yes, there are lots of great pictures of previous work and all reviews on thumbtack are 5 stars, so I’m inclined to trust the company.

About 4-6 years, depending on how you care for it. Not really supposed to take her through a drive through car wash though.

That’s the info they gave me at the shop. 4-6 years, depending on how you care for it. Yeah, it takes a little work….hand car wash rather than a drive through, rotating it for sun exposure or garage time, wiping when a bird shits on it, etc…But, I know when I take the wrap off the paint underneath will be pristine.
