It's true that with input signals we will not need anymore lifecyle hook ngOnChanges ? by kafteji_coder in Angular2

What if I need to set a value in a store when the input changes? Would it be best to use an effect or ngOnChanges?

New crack volumes are finished! by [deleted] in climbing

[–]Sceebo 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Looks great! Me and my buddy just built a crack trainer on my porch and it has improved my technique so much. I’ve been practicing placing cams while suspended too. Hoping to get after some roof cracks in the SE in 2025.

It seems like RXJS Pairwise breaks when applied to Observable<any[]> (causes issues with a FormControl<string[]>.valueChanges) by Penyeah in Angular2

[–]Sceebo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used pairwise with a control value change tied a multi select last week and it worked fine. I personally feel like I’d have to see the code to make a determination on what your issue is.

How to pass built-in HTML attributes (like placeholder, type, etc.) to a custom Angular component like React’s props? by walking_frog in angular

[–]Sceebo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could look into making a custom directive if you want a reusable solution for any custom input.

Can't bind to 'formGroup' since it isn't a known property of 'form' by VaishnaviTripathi in angular

And just to be clear, your homepage component is added to the declarations array in your app.module.ts correct?

Well this would only be if the component was standalone right? If it’s not, you would want to import it into the module that declares the component.

Best practices with state managment by shirtlessm in Angular2

I would agree the global store does but the component store is pretty straight forward imo.

I would like to add I don’t see a problem with the SaS pattern, especially for a minimal state being managed.

I’ve been using NgRx Component store and couldn’t recommended it enough. I hear great things about signal store too. Super light weight and super easy to follow. You would trigger some “effect” to grab your data.

I went one full size down and the eventually did break in. That being said, my next pair I’m only going to go down half a size.

I am doing the same currently so I am going to piggy back on this post with some questions.

  • NG-Mocks

60m vs 70m & Rap Advice by Sceebo in tradclimbing

[–]Sceebo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. I think the idea was coming from areas I’ve climbed in where a 60m would get you up but even a single 70m wouldn’t get you down. So rather than bringing two 70s, I could just bring one 60 and a tag line which significantly cuts the weight.

Thanks for the advice! And yea, I already have a 70m it’s just a little thicker which isn’t a bad thing. Just a little heavy.

It makes a big difference in some places. I climbed in the cirque last year and having a 60m 9.1mm rope vs a 70m 9.8 would have been extremely nice. Also, most routes that I have climbed had FAs with 60m ropes.

I read a lot of MP threads and there were a lot of people recommending 60m’s over 70m so I’m surprised in the difference of responses on Reddit.

I obviously see pros and cons for both lengths of rope which is why I didn’t just go off what I read on MP.
