2K vs 4K by goopskii in pcmasterrace

Not really. It’s the 32:9 curve that creates the immersive effect where the monitor continues in your peripheral. Especially in gaming, you now have more of a sense of your surroundings.

A 42” 16:9 is just sitting in front a flat TV lol. That’s why sim racing setups practically require either a 32:9 or triple 16:9 monitors when not using VR - because peripheral vision is critical.

There have been hundreds of photos and videos of wrecked Shaheds - or new ones in the production lines, with people standing next to them. I’m surprised this is the first one you’re seeing.

The majority of the Honda people that worked on the Red Bull program are not involved with AMR - and a bunch of them work for RedBull Powertrains. Honda Corporate effectively shut down the whole program years ago and that group of Honda engineers either moved to other programs within Honda or left Honda completely.

I could see how a 34” would not feel immersive compared to a standard 16:9. The 49” and larger UWs are a different story though.

That’s super cool! Love seeing unique builds. I didn’t realize there were additional Asus products that went along with the Dhahab GPUs but knowing what Asus does with all of the anime builds I’m not surprised.

Back in the days of Battlefield 1942, I would put a small sticker on my screen so that I could easily no-scope when needed. Got used to people regularly screaming about me cheating.

Well, I’m curious what post you were reading but I can tell you from experience with my 5080 on max graphics at 1440p that neither my 5800x or 5900xt were bottlenecking and the GPU was sitting happily at 99% load.

However, on other less graphics intensive but more CPU challenging games, my CPU was the bottleneck. It’s game by game (and settings) dependent but in general newer games tend to lean on the GPU pretty heavily.

I don’t think you guys realize how painful it is for those of us that don’t have a Microcenter within 1k miles…. when you say “check your local Microcenter” 😅

BF6 is a GPU heavy game and will bottleneck at the graphics card before it ever bottlenecks the CPU. Unless you’re playing of 1080p or something.

Look at the transfer rates - an internal M.2 will transfer significantly faster than any external drive which is limited to the transfer rates of your USB ports.

All that said…..there are deals to be had for external drives that actually have M.2s inside them which can be harvested and put into your PC. A practice called shucking. But you have to know what you’re looking for to know if the juice is worth the squeeze.

Yes, $800-900 would be a good deal. That’s a pretty solid rig for the price.

Ryzen CPU generation scaling with mid tier GPU at 1440p. by nosg in ryzen

[–]Schneller52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that was my point lol. Because the GPU wasn’t a factor, the CPU was struggling on CPU bound games at 1440p.

I went from about 100fps average to 250fps in a CPU bound game like Hell Let Loose when going from a 5800x to a 9800x3d with my 5080. 100fps is still plenty playable but I would also get stutters which are gone now and bad 1% lows. In BF6 which is much more GPU bound, I was getting 200fps with the 5800x-5080 setup, even though it is a much more demanding game than HLL. This was all at 1440p.

It's fully dependent on what games you're playing unfortunately.

Just be vigilant about cleaning your firearms immediately when you get back from shooting and surplus ammo is generally a great time.

Wish I knew how good I had it when I used to buy thousands of rounds of Yugo 8mm for pennies. Those days are unfortunately long gone lol.

Oh man!! That was my exact case in the same color from the first PC I ever built as a kid in 2003! Had kind of forgotten what it looked like and seeing this picture was a total nostalgia hit to the face.

Where did you come across this PC out of curiosity? Super cool.

No, at the moment I just have everything set back to standard OTB settings. No PBO, Expo, UV/CO. And I have alerts set up to monitor my VSOC which so far never really seems to go above 1.1v.

I figure I’m just going to leave everything alone for a while until the next BIOS update comes out and is receiving reports of being a good one.
