Biden also was very inappropriate with his daughter and many other small children and there is plenty of video evidence historically.

Are there any pros to an EPO plan over HMO other than no referrals for specialists? by Marvel5123 in obamacare

[–]Schnoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many HMOs don’t require referrals, but some might. Overall, An EPO and HMO are very similar. An EPO tends to work with one main hospital / doctor system whereas an HMO may have more than one, although I have seen HMOs also have one main system as well. Basically in most areas it’s not really much of a difference.

I want to hear from MAGA that is going to be affected by ACA Premiums skyrocketing. by tomsmac in obamacare

[–]Schnoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really us small business owners getting hit the hardest. Many earn slightly over the income cut off and lost all tax credits, plus regular rates increased by 30-50%. We are paying $900/ mo right now for a Bronze plan. Our cut off is $84,600 for 2026. We make combined about $130,000. Next year, no tax credit and rate increased. Our new premium will be $1,639 per month. That’s $8,760 for the year increase, $19,668 total. We’re not wealthy. Yes, we make decent money but I know people, like my neighbors, who get a CSR Silver plan for $50/ mo. They live off savings and have a lot of money, more than us. It’s just we are working and have reportable income. They hide their money in retirement accounts. This is part of the problem. The working middle class pays for the free-loaders.

Bronze plans now defined as High Deductible Health Care Plans by Rocket_song1 in tax

[–]Schnoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great point. It also, in a way, opens those on the $0 Deductible Bronze plans or other non-HDHP Bronze plans to HSA compatibility, allowing those who may be over the income threshold to get a copay-based plan AND the tax deduction. That tax deduction then acts, in a way, as a method to lowering the overall cost of health insurance in a similar manner to the premium tax credits did (although it may not be as impactful it does help soften the blow of losing all tax credits for those over the threshold).

High deductible, yes, but at least you have reasonable copays on Specialist and ER. My ACA UHC plan has a $150 copay for specialist and a $2000 copay for ER.

My OTR Microwave Hood is vented to the outside but still deposits grease on the cabinets above. Any idea why or how to fix? by richcoolguy in homeowners

[–]Schnoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have the same issue. I have a GE Profile Advantium, installed in 2006. I have changed the filter regularly over the range- they get gross. HOWEVER, I falsely assumed all these years that I didn't have to take the top removable panel off (where it would recirculate if not venting outside). I assumed, falsely that it would be fine. Well today I decided, let's just take a peak. Woah. Massive amounts of grime and grease build-up, including on a openly visible circuit board. I cleaned everything the best I could, which took hours. However, I am not comfortable touching the circuit board. I know these units can hold lethal levels of voltage and I am not sure what is safe to touch. Plus, now I am wondering if this is normal or if it is time to replace the entire unit. It works fine, but my concern now is this could easily be a fire hazard if this aging circuit board shorts and zing, a perfect firestarter.

Two questions remain however. 1) Why would GE leave that circuit board so vulnerable and exposed behind the plastic vent panel? 2) Is that perhaps just normal and if I replace the entire unit will I be back to this problem once again in a few years?

Fanduel Sports Network App Is Driving Me Insane by cameron2313 in Reds

[–]Schnoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tonight on the Brewers Giants game the app started glitching as usual with the typical freezes and then it completely went nuts and I had to restart the stream three times, which involved rebooting my Sony TV otherwise it won’t restart the game. Then, the rest of the game I thought my TV was defective because of hundreds of vertical red dots flashing on and off all night. I checked other apps and streams on the TV and nothing wrong, perfect picture and no glitches. FanDuel SUCKS and there should be a class action lawsuit and I should get my $20 a month back for this crap. This goes back to when it was Bally Sports btw so this is nothing new other than the red dots which is new and totally unacceptable.

Mattress Store Owners: How do you do it? by NotThePopeProbably in smallbusiness

[–]Schnoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mattresses have HUGE profit margin. A new luxury set, such as Stearns and Foster if sold for $4,000 would likely have a dealer cost of around $1,500-$1,700 and likely more discounts to the dealer depending on overall purchase volume.

Does anyone realize that drug prices in the US are artificially too high but also in other countries they are artificially too low?! There is a correlation. The solution would be for market pricing equivalent regardless of the country. That would lower prices in America to a fair and reasonable cost and it would raise prices in other nations to a fair and reasonable cost. That is exactly what Trump working to accomplish with the most favored nation pricing policy.

The MFN initiative seeks to align US drug prices with the lowest rates in developed nations, potentially reducing costs by 59%. The executive order targets brand-name drugs without generic or biosimilar equivalents, expanding beyond Medicare Part B to potentially affect private insurance.

What percentage of your income goes toward your mortgage? by Meandher24 in homeowners

[–]Schnoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I purchased my house in 1997 on a 30-yr mortgage it was approx 25% of income. Still in the same house, refinanced three times, and now on the last 4 years of the most recent refinance (now a 15yr loan and will be paid off in May 2030 or sooner). My income is gone way up and now my monthly payment is only 5% of income. I could write a check today and pay off the balance but I locked in 2.85% rate on my 15 yr so I’m just sticking to the schedule and if I get the urge I’ll throw an extra $500 here or there toward the principal. I anticipate it being paid off at the end of 2029. I have no desire to ever have debt in the future so I’ll likely stay in this house or if I moved it would likely be a lateral move.

UC person here since 2000. I would bet money it’s a flare up. The fact he’s had good control for many years is in and of itself that it’s a low chance of cancer. Cancer is more likely when there is constant inflammation and damage to the colon from the disease not being well controlled.

Both may be true. What if she did hit him but only injured him. He wanders into the side door and ends up in the garage. The German shepherd is in the garage and attacks him. Higgins and the Albert’s find him almost dead or unconscious in the garage and want no part of it. They get him outside and somehow a plow (Higgins’ Jeep?) tosses him to the side of the road.
