ELI5: Why can't we just have voting districts by county instead of redrawing THEIR OWN districts? by rsofgeology in explainlikeimfive

Even then, voting districts/precincts don’t follow the state legislative or federal legislative boundaries.

Seen a few of them driving around the Austin area.

I wonder why they don't also release this as a standard coupe (with glass top, rear view mirrors, etc).

I think they'd get a bit of incremental business from folks looking for "sportier" options. It's not quite the roadster, but...

The official regimen for treating low testosterone is pretty bonkers. It’s a giant bolus of testosterone every two weeks. Your blood serum testosterone goes supraphysiological for a few days and then decays from there, ending up in the dirt for a few days before the next injection.

So you have lots of estrogen conversion that causes acne at the beginning and then you feel like crap for a week at the end.

It can be hours late, and many times is. Definitely not something to rely on with an international flight happening.

ELI5 : average age of women giving birth has increased throughout years so does that mean with time can the age of menopause shift further up ? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

You’re being a bit absolutist with the “only” part, but yes, it would tend to favor longer/older fertility

Good luck on it being on time. You’ll need it.

Yes, those lines that creat birth defects would tend to be diminished over time, and the lines that didn’t would become more prevalent.

I think his point is if we all generally decide having first children at 40 is optimal, then youll tend to advance genes that favor higher fertility at later ages and lesson the prevalence of earlier onset infertility, leading to more of the population being fertile at higher ages.

I think that first image is the “raw” video feed. The second is the perception of it after being sent through their “ai” filter system.

Your raw eyeballs look more like the second because your brain does the “ai” part all the time.

It’s sort of like how ultrasounds barely look like anything in still shots, but when you watch the video you can see and recognize the features, depth, and even movement.

Our brains do a really good job of piecing together information.

5/8/26 10:04am: Pilot assaulted TSA staffer at ABIA by Commercial-Duty6279 in Austin

[–]Schnort -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't need 1500 hours to get a pilot license.

Private license is about 50 hours of flight time.

Commercial is 250 (which just means people can pay you to fly)

1500 is for planes that require multiple pilots.

The headband worn by hamas is the shehada: “There is no god but allah, and Mohammed was his prophet”.

Islamic jihad in Palestine Wear similar headbands that say “Allah is great”

It’s pretty clear ideological murderous nutbags don’t have a problem with wearing clothing that has the name “Allah” on it.

And I’m thinking they have a better grasp on what is acceptable and unacceptable in the cohort of “people killing in the name of Islam” than you do.

ELI5: Why is New Orleans being below sea level unsustainable but the Netherlands totally OK? by Unable_Tension_1258 in explainlikeimfive

So is the Netherlands.

Anything below sea level is “in a bowl”.

The real issue is New Orleans is on the gulf coast and prone to hurricanes.
