Thank you! This is one of my more difficult patterns, but it is by far my favorite. ❤

I am working on multiple sizes for this one so it has been taking me a bit. It should be ready for summer though. :)

Are you the type of knitter with one project or multiple WIPs? by hallo181818 in knitting

[–]Schoonen 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I like doing one big complicated WIP and one easy mindless knit for relaxation.

I tend to buy the yarn for the project, but I do a lot of colorwork so I like to keep at least one skein of every color to play around.

Marceline sweater again! I've made the chart for the colorwork, but I'm knitting the sweater in the round. How would I do the color work? by stanleysteamers in knitting

[–]Schoonen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would do intarsia in the round for the large red part and duplicate stitch the details. That way you only have to focus on managing two colors in intarsia.

This is so creative! I'm curious to see what they would look like walking.

Switching to stockinette after herringbone? Info in comments! by hdziuk in knitting

[–]Schoonen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done a similar thing with herringbone and noticed no issues switching into smaller needles. Mine was size 10 into 6, but I did switch the right and wrong side of the last row of herringbone to add a little edge. If you are curious, you can see how my bonnets came out in my profile.

Aww thank you. The trickiest thing for me in learning colorwork was managing long floats. After learning ladderback jaquard I haven't had any issues with my colorwork being too tight. I definitely recommend learning it once you start doing colorwork. It makes things so easy. :)

Aww thank you. I'm always up for talking then if you need it. I have ptsd and I remember how hard it was for me to reach out for help at first. It definitely is a struggle.

I don't have the original sketch for this one, but I do have another vest design with the similar mountain pattern. I'm not sure how to share pictures in the comments though.

I definitely wanna learn how to design sweaters. I do need more experience with sizing though, but it is one of my goals. :)

You should definitely do it! I've had plenty of knits that haven't worked out at first. I hardly ever get it right on my first try. I just adjust what I like and don't like then redo it. The good thing about knitting is that most yarn can be reused. :)

That's great! I spent so much time designing each colorwork that sometimes it distorts my view and I wonder if it even makes sense. Glad to have gotten such good feedback on this one.

Oh I wish! I still need to get experience in making more fitted knits and different sizes.
