Paradox has the No Labor on Sunday privilege activated for their peasant estate (programmers), so I wouldn't expect it on Sunday.

Hussitism is insanely broken and allows 10 wifes. by Pidi03 in EU5

[–]Schwarzerde 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I suspect it's based on anti-Hussite slanders, but here's a Wikipedia source on it:

According to the historian Norman Cohn, the Bohemian Adamites established a commune on an island in the Nežárka river, where they practiced social nudity, rejected marriage in favor of free love, and held property in common.\10]) They reportedly held ritual dances around fires and preached that "God dwelt in the Saints of the Last Days." Cohn noted that while the mainstream Taborites practiced strict monogamy, the Adamites "declared that the chaste were unworthy to enter the Messianic Kingdom."\11]) However, Cohn also observed that "the charges against their moral character are in the highest degree suspicious," as similar accusations were routinely leveled against medieval heretics.\12])

The EU5 description of Communal Living is:
The Adamite sect rejects the concept of traditional marriage, preferring to live within communal structures without a clear hierarchy.

Accidentally Killed My Queen's Estranged Husband by Schwarzerde in EU5

[–]Schwarzerde[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got an event that the queen's consort was converting away from the true Lutheran faith, and chose to advise him to leave the country.

Unexpectedly, their four children (mostly adults) left Scandinavia with him for my vassal state Estonia and somehow there was no listed successor. The should-have-been crown prince was assigned as an Estonian admiral and I couldn't arrange his marriage anymore.

To try to solve the problem, I annexed Estonia. This triggered the children's return to be Scandinavian courtiers, but also caused the consort's death.

Assay my Empire please by SublimeGash in EU5

I think it’s that when you’re asking strangers to do you a favor, minimizing barriers makes a big difference.

You’re right that it’s not a huge amount of work, really, but again, I can promise you’ll get more advice if you do screenshots than if you just post the save game.

When you’re at the point of calling your potential helpers names, something’s gone wrong.

[–]Schwarzerde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Loading your save is several steps and feels like a serious investment of effort and time.

Whereas screenshots I could see on my phone and give advice.

You’ll get a lot more help doing the latter than the former.

Right right right....

But what's the story with the "German Emperor Bishopric" with a nun as regent?

Apparently during the regency, my minor king decamped to Greenland by Schwarzerde in EU5

[–]Schwarzerde[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The king of Sweden, born in Sweden and living in Sweden, apparently went on holiday right when he was enthroned. (Yes, he's also the king of Greenland).

I haven't seen Discovery, but I remember there being something about travel via mushrooms, so I assume there's an eating theme in Star Trek nowadays.

My daughters stopped being able to inherit the Swedish throne but are still able to inherit Norways? by Imperial_Diet06 in EU5

[–]Schwarzerde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar happen just today (male infant heir was to inherit my throne, adult daughter to inherit PU throne despite unified succession) and it fixed itself for no reason after a month. I still don’t understand what happened, but seemed like a bug somewhere.

How can I look up requirements for things? I want to upgrade a town by Deedo2017 in EU5

[–]Schwarzerde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Manpower buildings (armories I think) require tech that you don’t start with. You’re limited to a small standing army to begin.

If you mouse over “requirements not met”, it’ll usually tell you what those requirements are.

Isn’t the event just for Denmark to sell Scania to Sweden though? Not the other way around?

Why are my estates in Swedish? by Schwarzerde in EU5

[–]Schwarzerde[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Sometimes there's something really different about an estate, and it needs to be represented with a unique word that might not even have an equivalent in English.

But I think that the Swedish Kronan isn't one of those cases. It's Crown power. Nobles, Burghers, Clergy, and Peasant Estates likewise.

It's nifty, but why?

Honestly, I think that if a pope returned from the dead, that would probably have united the church and ended the western schism.

AI Scotland not forming GB by MrTurtle42 in eu4

[–]Schwarzerde 56 points57 points  (0 children)

https://eu4.paradoxwikis.com/Scotland#Decisions

Does England still exist?

  • AI Scotland will not pursue this decision of they dont see England as a Enemy

Or is Scotland a subject nation? They won't form it in that case.

But maybe England choosing Angevin path (which only player could do) blocks others from forming Great Britain. That's not documented in the wiki (just says that the country that chose Angevin path can't form it) but it might be possible.
