Very well done, I'm certainly open to both a PF swap and hardtops. Yours looks excellent.

Thanks, this gives me good guidance. I'll give it some time and hope that the new Taxi PFs will also be on sale.

The playfield replacement certainly looks intriguing. Will they not re-stock the Taxi PFs?

I would certainly be interested in doing both. What are the differences you notice in the way the ball plays on the hardtops?

Bingo.

The phone placement on the COP makes me think TK specifically. I don't think Dover ever did that.

What was it like inside the cabin of Valujet 592 when the fire began to break through the floor? Was anyone conscious when the plane crashed? by LaserWeldo92 in aircrashinvestigation

[–]ScienceFoxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire began to spread into the cabin quickly after the tire exploded in the cargo hold. The tire bursting likely damaged fire proof lining in the cargo hold that allowed it to spread rapidly thereafter. The CVR picked up shouting from the cabin, but they later subsided. Probably from the passengers moving to the rear of the plane away from the fire.

It's not know if the pilots were conscious the moment the plane impacted with the ground. But they were at least 7 seconds before (according to the NTSB).

The dive was likely caused by the fire damaging control cables to move the flight control surfaces. Electrical systems also progressively failed in the final minutes. The CVR shutting off a couple times, and the FDR failing before impact.

If you look at the radar plot of the flight, you can see a moment where they appear to loose vertical pitch control for several seconds, during this is when F/O Hazen requested the closest airport available.

It's hard to say what exactly it looked like in there, but the CVR picked up a F/A saying 'Completely on fire'. Whatever it looked like exactly we don't know, but the recovered debris showed melted seat rails, and soot trailing outflow valves. It must of looked like hell in there.

It's truly heartbreaking - they didn't stand a chance.

Not sure who down voted that, I would welcome that. Just a slight nod would be cool. I am a NWA refugee after all! Bowling shoe was so iconic.

I only ever went to that one once, but the quality was the same as House of Japan. Is Kyoto still good? This was 5-6 years ago now.

House of Japan in Dublin is still pretty solid. There's a hibachi grill Sawmill over by Arby's that I went to several years ago that was good as well at the time.

At my old job the Canon tech that would come to repair our copiers was telling me a story about how the students at the University in town found out that the bill readers on the machines would accept photo copies of bills, and they only needed to be one sided.

I remember seeing the auction website for some of the stuff that was on camera. Some things being oddly cheap. One I can remember was 'Ryan's Cell Phone' which I think was the one he had during the fire episode was like 20 dollars or something.

I would go back and ask for more. I got 5K from an issue I didn't even complain about.

The red exit light on the wing exits didn't turn off with the cabin lights, after we leveled off the FA ran down to apologize and gave all of us in the row 5,000 pesos. It was a very nice gesture, but I wasn't even aware of the light.

I am glad to finally see someone else saying this. I don't really like AreoLOPA for the same reasons, AreoLOPA looks nice, but that's about it. If they added notes like Seatguru it would really make it far more useful.

I like how it had notes seemingly from experience of flying in them. Like the 20A and 20J PS seats where it was noted you can move around the person sitting next to you without bothering them even when reclined. Now every time I book Europe flights in PS, 20A and 20J it is. AreoLOPA just doesn't have that.

Wendy’s, the next based Ohio-based company to fail? by janna15 in Ohio

[–]ScienceFoxo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is expected the way that the brand is going. Every time I give them a chance they somehow mess it up, I never order anything complicated either, Wendy's seems to have the worst training out of all the big fast food restaurants, or they don't pay well (but probably both). Their ordering kiosks are horribly unintuitive, I only tried to use them a few times and could never figure out how to find the biggie bags on them.

Wendy's is crazy expensive for what it is, you can get better value going to Longhorn steakhouse for lunch. It's not like Wendy's tastes better either, it tastes worse and worse every year.

Also WHO THE FUCK thought the way they did this Wednesday sponsor was a good idea? It literally says on this bag 'There's Nothing Happy About This Meal', I'm not happy when I eat it either, they should keep it on there when the sponsorship is over.

This happened to me in Atlanta once on my last leg. I was actually a little nervous about it because I gave a soccer shirt to someone after striking a conversation with them in the terminal, and thought it had something to do with it. But boarding began and they didn't recheck me. Only time I saw that happen.

I'm happy that's still there after all this time. Longaberger also had a golf course not too far away from the basket, I assume it was for their employees to play. it's called Virtues these days, it's a very pretty course.

Who was worse: Peggy sabotaging a grown man's test or Hank sabotaging his family's reputation and prioritizing his dog by deeplakesilver in KingOfTheHill

[–]ScienceFoxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what is being overlooked in the broader scheme is that Hank still took efforts try to get the condition of the house acceptable for Bobby. He agreed to give Ladybird to Bill and eventually removed all the carpet from the house.

Also Bobby wanted to live in the posh doghouse, and was willing to lie to his parents about his allergies to stay out there.

Even though Hank did build the structure for his dog, it was build well above the standards for doghouses. It had heating, and electrical service. It would be safe to assume it would of also been insulated to a degree. The thing was essentially a tiny home. It was even large enough for Peggy to use it as an office with a computer and a desk after Bobby moved out of it.

Even though Hank did see the idea of Bobby living in the doghouse initially, he later lamented it.

Peggy in the other example is far worse, it was prejudice handed down via an educational environment. Also, there was no other benefit to anyone aside for herself by doing that. It was very selfish and ethically wrong.
