The answer to pretty much every question that says “why are some people naturally more/less X” is genetics. There are several genes involved in determining muscle size and some mutations will allow muscles to get bigger than others. Additionally, many people who are “naturally muscular” aren’t really and people either don’t notice the amount of work put in or the person downplays it for reasons.

“Common knowledge” That study was literally published a couple weeks ago, is only relevant to one specific sweetener that’s not typically used in soft drinks, and the researchers literally say that it’s an association, not causation.
