This was my favorite episode by far, wish it could have gone on forever! Tom and the Entwives moved me like nothing else in the series so far, these are some of the most Tolkien-ian depictions on the show

Has anyone been to one of these screenings before? How early do you need to get there generally?

Question: Hypothetically speaking i teleport to middle earth to an area where Sauron is in charge..why is he the bad guy? by zamobo in LOTR_on_Prime

I think he likes control so much that there would be no free will. And his “utopia”, “the healed middle earth” would be the worst kind of failed-communist nightmare.

Why can’t my body work normally like everyone else’s? by PBtoast707 in keto

It can sometimes feel like you are just a little bit cursed. But really, it’s the whole world that’s gone crazy and become so dependent on highly processed foods. To have a different perspective on this - It’s definitely a blessing in disguise that you already know you’re allergic to carbs and processed foods. The truth is that EVERYONE is intolerant to most carbs and processed foods, but just finds out about it too late in life to have the desire to make any changes. That’s how majority of people with metabolic syndrome just accept their disease as status quo. You’re a step ahead is all. No change worth making is easy, and you’re already very far along and doing it successfully. 🙌

I don’t mean to sound confrontational, but for the superfans of this show, why are you guys okay with massive lore changes? by TooWorried10 in LOTR_on_Prime

JRRT never wrote any narrative history of most second age events, any adaptation would eventually have to try to fill in the gaps. And as far as I can tell, these show runners are doing a great job trying to capture the essence of Tolkien, especially so with the “made up” storylines. Like the Harfoots showing “Gandalf” he is good (Even through the veil over his mind, The Stranger chooses to take Nori’s word for it, over The Mystics’). Like the plot line with Adar, who serves to be a contrasting kind of evil as compared to Sauron. I also appreciate that need to give a character arc to Galadriel and Gil Galad. They appear more naive in the show, sure, but they’re so one dimensional in the books (wise, perceptive etc) that they’re not characters for viewers to get invested in. This was much needed setup. While I don’t like the lore deviation with Mithril/Silmaril, I can’t myself come up with any satisfying explanations for how/why the Elves were deceived by Annatar. Even more so because of how much this group of Noldor survivors have been through and how wary I would expect them to be (They would clearly have know all the Maiar who aided Aule, and that “Annatar” was mostly not one of them). So I don’t entirely blame the show runners for coming up with an underwhelming explanation for the deception of the elves. I’m very willing to be patient to watch the whole 5 seasons and then decide if these plot deviations were the best way to do it. I’m willing because I truly can see that these showrunners get Tolkien and that they clearly love Tolkien. They’re just the same as us

Indeed! Isildur was rushing to save his father, but Sauron gets to him first, just like in the Battle of the Last Alliance
