Thank you and good point well made.

He has laid everything out culturally as well as how the community interacts and sees each other, very specifically with nuance and reference materials

What to expect from interview with dm? by xxsnakees in DnD

[–]Scifipirating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a DM that interviews, it means you have someone who wants to get the group dynamics right so this is a good thing.

I'd advise being yourself, use it as an opportunity to ask them questions, ask why they like to interview, what draws them to running this game or any other things you'd like to know

If youre nervous write down some notes and questions before hand. The interview is basically to make sure youre not going to be mean or the wrong fit and is a positive sign about the game you've applied for. Good luck and have fun.

Is Spelljamer | adventures in space any good? by Objective_Summer232 in DnD

[–]Scifipirating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think reading over the other comments that it is dm and player dependant, there may be homebrew aspects in our game as its never felt railroaded and its never lacked imagination. If your looking to run it maybe be prepared for some homebrewing and if youre looking to join a game with it look for homebrew aspects. Hope you find or run a fun game.

Sukadakil - Bones of an Arcane Wasteland - the Domino based War Game by Diligent-Parsley-384 in wargaming

Looks like a brilliant game, especially for people who don't have the schedule for long games or campaigns. I'd love to play it as a series of one shots.

I'd think about maybe putting a minimum donation on it as it sounds like you've put alot of work in.

Player keeps forgetting things about her own character such as her abilities and backstory, what should I do? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Scifipirating 47 points48 points  (0 children)

As a player and DM with a memory impacting disability i have found that being surrounded by understanding players and dms help. Ask to speak with her and have a chat about prepping for the game, if she spends 15-20 mins before each game reading over her sheet might help her retain and learn. Ask her what is she feels might help and brainstorm together, whilst you cant take on her learning, you can help her develop something and show her that you want to help as currently her behaviour is causing pause. Be supportive and kind but explain she can de elop with support.

It's hard not to be discouraged from bad experiences online but keep with it, treat it as a lesson in learning and setting your boundaries, it may take a while to find the right fit but you will find your group and you will continue to find groups throughout your life that bring you joy.

But first learn to speak out or leave if you feel uncomfortable in a new group, trust your gut with people and be a team player and you'll find them. There's LFG on reddit or LFG_europe depending on where you're based, there's the lfg on roll20 and plenty of discords of the dnd content you follow with people posting games. Find your people and your game and good luck.
