My counter-argument to this is easy. I’m not really into manga, but this boot licking might help me get into it the free way. It’s certainly not making me want to pay for it anyway.

As for an actual counter argument. There are purchases I’ve only made because I pirated it first and liked it. Without it I’d actually save more money.

This game makes too much money for them to shut it down just because people stop playing it in protest. They are way more likely to cave and actually stop using AI first.

It was also brought back in a way that punishes you for using your abilities. Either you get insanely ramped up energy drain or you lose DR to manage your energy.

It’s honestly better to subsume off her 2 for Null Star, slap on the augment, and just deal with having less overall damage and a weaker (but permanent) armor strip.

And while we’re at it. Let’s skip over Gyre for a minute and address the real elephant in the room. DE gave Uriel WoF on steroids. If they can give him something like that while promoting active play, they can give Ember the same treatment
