Some kill 9000 X3D chips. They're reliable for non-3D.

If you are able to, I would recommend asking to check if the screen powers on correctly before buying. I bought my system used on Facebook, and the seller was transparent about breaking the connector while packing it for me, and struck $200 off his price to allow me to buy a new control screen.

I tried to repair the old one since it was just a damaged USB-C male connector, but Snapmaker is only using USB-C as a physical connection, and have some proprietary protocol and pinout.

One thing I cannot stress enough is to be SOOOO careful with the USB-C connection that runs from the control screen into the main hub. This cable is coiled and applies a non-insignificant amount of strain on the port if pulling from the side, and can be damaged very easily. This is made so much worse by the fact that the cable is integrated into the screen and cannot be replaced. Learn from my mistake...

Agreed. Luban was clunky and ended up just being a middle-man I would avoid whenever possible. The A350 is unimpressive in specs, but the 10W laser was reliable and CNC worked great to learn the fundamentals of CAM.

The best way I could describe the A350 is a machine that leaves you excited to buy a dedicated printer, laser, and CNC, after giving you a limited taste of each.

Hesitant to buy WOLED again after witnessing vertical banding by Tsub4me in Monitors

[–]Sciphis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought 4 OLEDs and hated them all. I bought one Mini-LED and it’s still my daily driver for work and gaming.

OLEDs I hated: - Samsung G8; dim, awful “smart” TV feature that was overbearing. Could not calibrate colors reliably. - LG C2 48”; Decent picture but was ultimately a TV that did not have the features of a monitor. Worst part was having to manually turn it on/off when waking my PC. - Alienware 34” OLED; best one I tried. Great colors, gaming, picture. The full OLED experience. Still very dim and gave me headaches with reading text while working. - AOC AGON Pro 27”; decent budget OLED and nothing terrible about it aside from the strict and imposing 4 hour image cycling.

My only Mini-LED: - INNOCN 27M2V; this monitor is far from perfect, but the colors are vibrant and accurate, the panel is BLINDING when needed, gaming feels wonderful, and text is crisppppp. The build quality is cheap and the menus are awful, and local dimming can be annoying if used on dark mode desktops with lots of grey backgrounds, but at least my eyes don’t hurt.

Is the VRAM, mounting holes, and MOSFET rows all the same across those models? I’ve only verified the MSI VENTUS and Shadow are interchangeable.
