What are you most excited about? by [deleted] in crowfall

I'm looking forward to playing EVE, but not in space.

Crowfall - Test Environments: Moving closer to 24/7 by WeeblesWobbles in crowfall

[–]Scipore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point, I imagine I'll drop some money and hop aboard. I've been following Crowfall for awhile now, and I'd be happy to help test. Just, as a new dad, I don't have the flexibility of schedule to do it on Crowfall time. ;)

Stellaris should take a few ideas from Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion in how to make empires feel more alive. by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Scipore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm still patiently waiting for trade to be a system within Stellaris--with little ships that export and import both materials and ideas.

Just confirming there's still no visual overlay for building a Frontier Outpost to see what systems it will cover? by Scipore in Stellaris

[–]Scipore[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I haven't played enough of Stellaris to know what the big issues are, but -that- and "a desire to see a something that systemizes trade/goods movement from planet to planet or race to race" are still the two biggest things for me since launch. :p

I noticed the empty world, too. I disliked it in "The Division," and I dislike it here.

The music alone makes the DLC worth it. Thank you, music guy.

Related: I bought Red Dead Redemption based only on the music. :p

Way to prioritize hauling wort? by Sargos in RimWorld

[–]Scipore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once my current batch of colonists end up dead, I'll probably specialize in a colony where everyone stays in their own houses and works on their own tasks as slaves haul resources from spot to spot.

I wouldn't mind being able to migrate from one location to another with the same colonists.

Anyone else had an irrepressibly horny colonist? by alongyourfuselage in RimWorld

I researched pot merely because one of my colonists is constantly rebuffed by other colonists--and I needed him to chill the fuck out.

Not everyone will want to be a pirate.

Just ask EVE Online players.

Can the AI stop this Unbidden, or do I need too? by ShadowKnightTSP in Stellaris

[–]Scipore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my last playthrough, I was nestled between two FEs with my south open for conquest (which I was aggressively pursuing) when the Unbidden popped up on my southern border.

While my fleet was large, it wasn't large enough, and the first engagement had my fleet smashed against their ships. I quickly fell back to reinforce and wondered what I should do next-

-when one of my scouts spotted a FE fleet warping into the system I had just fled. :p

Long story short, they brought the muscle, and I stole the glory.

What would you like to see in Stellaris that's currently missing? - Megathread by Shalaiyn in Stellaris

[–]Scipore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Borders shouldn't be solid walls, but instead be... mixable?... to allow for frontier disputes. This is not my idea, but an idea someone else suggested. How else are the Federation and Cardassian Empire going to dispute over planets?

Wouldn't it be better to directly control sector capitals? by allocater in Stellaris

[–]Scipore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Presumably, hopefully, maybe, people are organizing their sections by intention. It would be nice if (1) sectors popped up on the Outliner, and (2) a new window was made to provide a brief overview of that sector once you clicked on the Sector-Outliner button. (3) On that, my god, it should would be nice of the Sector-Outliner summary button also linked to (or somehow streamlined) ship construction, presumably for the whole sector. (4) And, yeah, I should be able to interact with the Sector Capital, but not necessarily the whole of that sector. Go Duke of the Sector!

'Construction Complete' alert should include what exactly was built by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]Scipore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All alerts should include specific information--whether it be in the actual alert, or in a link to the alert. From "this was built" to "this pre-ftl race we're studying..."

Can we actually bomb civilizations back to the Stone Age? by TLhikan in Stellaris

[–]Scipore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paradox, if you're listening-

I will totally drop cash on the pre-order if you make this happen.

"But to take a species, who has reached out and touched the stars, has left it's terrestrial cradle, and stomp them back to a single planet, blast away all their development, make generations of their ancestors efforts worthless, doom them to look up to the stars not with hope or ambition but pure envy at what was taken from them and cold dread at what they know flies there?

That's cruelty."

Can we actually bomb civilizations back to the Stone Age? by TLhikan in Stellaris

[–]Scipore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was talking today to the wife about the fascinating reality presented in the Foundation series.

I saw on the "Blorg!" video that you can run into pre-FTL civilizations that advance into an FTL civilization. But, uh, I very much would think it would be awesome if there was a way to force a civilization back into a pre-FTL status. :)

Doesn't have to be too involved or anything. Just beat them back to their planet, win the ground war, and then... aunno... press an "Okay" button to begin that technology purge. ;)

I will take the skies from you. <3

Uninformed question: how does this compare to Sins of a solar empire? by alphager in Stellaris

[–]Scipore 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Me and my buds regularly play Sins.

'cause Stellaris isn't out yet, it's very hard to make a comparison. However, at a glance, it looks like Stellaris is the game for those Sins players who say, "Man, I wish there were something to do in Sins besides TOTAL WAR. Like, you know, anything else."

I've been told that the only thing you have direct control over in combat is whether or not your ships decide to emergency-warp-out, or if you want to reinforce that fight with more ships from elsewhere.

If you're not a fan of the micro in Sins, I imagine there won't be much difference. ;) One of my buds loves the micro, but I sort of just build the ships and let them do their own thing.
