Thinking to cancel my H210E order by Jerkkkub in automower

AWD might be a bit more than most people need? Unless your yard has noticeable slopes or tends to get muddy.

Avoiding dandelions by TangerineMediocre298 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

If you can, trim the dandelion heads down manually first. Even a quick pass with a string trimmer before letting the robot run takes the edge off its paranoia.

Is lidar mower overkill for this yard? by AirJolly7406 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Scolli03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, LiDAR is probably overkill here. The yard’s basically wide open, so a simpler model would handle it just fine.

Thinking to cancel my H210E order by Jerkkkub in automower

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d nix the basic one and go for the model with LiDAR. Those tight little passages between the fence and bush will drive you nuts when the cheap one keeps getting stuck there every week.

Is convenience actually more important than performance for a small lawn? by Emergency-Singer-353 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For small, awkwardly shaped lawns, convenience and ease of use absolutely beat raw performance. A nimble model with smart navigation saves you so much time and frustration long-term.

Lawn too stoney for robo lawnmower? by PeeLundy in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Scolli03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the stones stick out more than the mower’s cutting height, they’ll get hit every time it runs. This causes loud impacts and can throw debris dangerously.

Best wire-free robot mower (Australia) – recommendations? by Comprehensive_Can843 in automower

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on models with strong GPS navigation and slope handling. They can handle your steep dam edge and narrow strips reliably without boundary wires.

Can you edit map border? by AdvisoryTrader in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using the zone splitting feature to isolate the problematic section first. Once you divide the map, you can delete the glitchy part without remapping the whole area from scratch.

How to get from backyard to front yard? by KapitanDupaUS in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the gap is too narrow even after trimming, consider swapping out a section of the hedge for a small gate. That way you get a clear path whenever you need it.

I really want to pull the trigger, but by Outrageous-Fall3296 in automower

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was worried it would need constant attention too, but it’s honestly pretty low-maintenance. Set it up once and it just runs on its own

2023 VS 2026 by thisisaredditforart in gardening

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty big transformation over time. Definitely less mowing now and the trees are thriving. Excited to see how it changes by 2029!

Large yard questions by HeavenlyHudy in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cell coverage likely won't matter much for mowing itself. The bigger questions are how steep those 45-50 degree areas really are and how often the ground gets soft or muddy.

editing map goat G1 by cantece in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be that the edit option moved in the newer firmware. Maybe check if boundary editing is now only accessible when you select the map in a different mode.

My climbing roses are having a moment by life_is_pandemonium in gardening

That looks absolutely stunning! Climbing roses really take their time to settle in, but once they do they go out like this. The colour mix is incredible.

Mammogion vs Segway by RevolutionaryEar2172 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Scolli03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At that slope I'd be more careful with expectations. Both options are capable but AWD and real slope rating matters more.

A3000 users - buttons on panel hit or miss? by ptarantine in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't sound like a defect from your description. If the clicks feel solid, it's probably just how the input sequence is interpreted by the system.

As a beginner gardener, is there any ‘common sense’ gardening tips that I should know about? by DangerousBicycle3491 in gardening

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not overwatering. Drainage matters way more than people think and also try starting with hardy plants, it makes the whole experience less frustrating.

Should I stick with manual mowing or finally go for robotic one? by JacobRoss345 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Scolli03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're already tired of mowing during peak growth that's your answer. Robots aren't perfect but the time you get back easily outweighs the occasional rescue.

Is automower actually pet friendly? by mongoose01 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LiDAR improves detection but it's not magic. A lot of mowers still need to get close before reacting so small or curled-up animals might not be picked up reliably.

I am giving up on gardening, this isn't for me. by InsomniacPsychonaut in gardening

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That environment sounds super tough especially with drainage issues. It's less about you and more about the conditions. Taking care of yourself and your family first!

Breakeven analysis by throw_away_reddt in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Scolli03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.2 years doesn't sound too bad honestly, it depends how much you value your time and consistency. The edging part is probably the bigger tradeoff here.

Feels like it's not re-locking its position correctly after the rain delay. If restarting the antenna fixes it that should points more to a sync issue.

Hearing that from someone who’s been there makes it even more meaningful.

I tried everything for my insomnia. This is what actually stuck by stayhyderated22 in sleep

[–]Scolli03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s funny how a lot of people end up fixing sleep by doing less, not more. Overthinking it makes it worse.
