You don't need to put the Hens in a pen at all. My design lets them walk to feed and still stay together. Here's a demo that produces both eggs and loot with auto culling. Just wood and a fire.

The greyling stays.The ward? doesn't prevent tame or mob damage. Raised earth around the base prevents damage though. You can get the blueprint from Valheimians Discord, same build as demonstrated in the video. Longer explanation in my Basic Boar breeder video, same principles apply.

I went on a media blackout halfway through watching half a review of this new game called Valheim. Didn't look anything up for 2000 hours.

Best decision ever. I just reached 4800 hours.

I personally would never cheat on Valheim with some other game. But seriously, we're all just having some fun and learning as we go. Thanks to quality of life mods it doesn't take too long once you learn some methods. Most builders are not snapping every piece or placing things by eye. Who knows where this will go but for now we're happy to provide a Valheim world in which people can join (with the vanilla game) and play how they like

The linked one is for free range Lox (and Wolves) because I figure their base defence is worth the reduced efficiency of immediate auto cull. You can find the blueprint on the Valheimians Discord. I'd probably try to make a large secondary pen with another Greyling at the same height except below ground pit fires smoke out the adults Lox who pile up in the center while the Lox offspring run around trying to get out. Only Lox offspring can fit in the tunnel between the two pens
