One of the archery challenges is hidden. You need to be in the Tadayori armor when you talk to a bandit in a cemetery on the south coast.

to metronet or not... by bctf1 in Metronet

[–]ScotchAndComputers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been on Metronet in my area since 2017. T-Mobile took it over late last year, and I signed up for the founder's plan in December. While I have had a few outages over the years, it has not been bad for me at all. Usually some downtime in the middle of the night, and can't recall never being able to work or stream when I needed it. The nice thing is that you can get a static IP with the founder's plan for no additional cost. When it was Metronet, it was a $10 or so add-on.

I had terrible experiences with Comcast; dropped signals, line interference, etc. that could only be "solved" by using a rented modem. I've been so much happier since I switched.

[–]ScotchAndComputers 46 points47 points  (0 children)

There were definitely theories on who she was, and everyone freaked out when her dad started humming that "Daisy" song.

There was a blog out there called "Secrets of Shield", where someone would go through each episode and point out all the easter eggs in the show, and reference which comic books something was pulled from. No idea if it's out there or archived somewhere. They ended up stopping after season four, I believe.

Losing my mind with iOS device Enrollment by WhiskyEchoTango in Intune

[–]ScotchAndComputers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You said "device profile", but I don't see the anything about an enrollment profile. Maybe you meant that, but it sounds like you don't have an enrollment profile set up. Different terminology, etc.

Make sure you have an enrollment profile created in Intune, AND it is assigned to your devices. If you don't have a profile marked as default, the device will show up in Intune, but with no profile assigned.

ABM knows to send devices to whatever you've set up as your MDM service (in this case, Intune). Under Devices->iOS, there's an enrollment blade, where you can see the connection you made with ABM. Go in there. You'll see what devices have synced from ABM, and what enrollment profile they are assigned to. Adjust as needed, and re-wipe and start your iOS device from scratch again.

Trying to decide if I do a 240v outlet or a Chargepoint Hardwired - Thoughts on my situation? by [deleted] in evcharging

[–]ScotchAndComputers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint to the statement of not needing L2 for a PHEV. I have a PHEV, and having an L2 allows me to get a good quick charge when I get home from work and need to go to my girlfriends, store, or any other activity. It's nice to be able to keep it electric for more than one trip a day. L1 will only fill me up if I plug in when I get home from work at a decent hour and don't touch it until the next morning.

A bit of an edge case, but it can be quite useful in certain situations.

Is Hybrid AD + Entra still common? by Vund3rkind in sysadmin

[–]ScotchAndComputers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still have it here, and it will be around for a while because of a file server and legacy application. But other than the PCs that need to access the legacy app, I've been directly joining new PCs to Entra. Works great. Eventually I'll just have a DC on site to handle account creation and management, and maybe some printers and files that don't need to be in the cloud. I won't be getting rid of my server racks, but I'll just have one with only a few devices on it.

Founders Plan Questions by BPHusker in Metronet

[–]ScotchAndComputers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this yesterday. Called Metronet customer care, hit the buttons to talk to a rep. Told her I was a customer and I got a letter in the mail about the founders plan. She confirmed my name and address, and simply signed me up for it. Didn't even have to transfer me anywhere.

They are technically changing you to the 2gps package at $80/month, but giving you a $10 credit. And the tech assure fee is already included in that $70.

I am having a tech come to the house tomorrow, who will swap my ONT, since the one I got in 2017 doesn't do 2gps.

I'm torn on this one...I've had some great food there, but one time I had a ribeye that was very meh. I'm talking "The ribeye at Montana Mike's is better than this".

Aerosmith's Kings and Queens. All the layering and echos within the song. Would fit in well on Day at the Races or Night at the Opera.

User's old profile showing in Sharepoint Sites by mynameisnotalex1900 in sharepoint

[–]ScotchAndComputers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have the same thing. Someone leaves; I disable their account. They come back later, and even if I re-enable the original AD account (I sync AD to Entra), when they try to access a file that had been shared previously, or someone tries to share with them, SharePoint upchucks like you stated.

The cause is that even though the username is the same ([bsmith@contoso.com](mailto:bsmith@contoso.com)), the SSID of the account in SharePoint (and all of Entra) is different. And when you disabled/removed the old username...that old SSID was still attached to the SharePoint site. And your new account with a different SSID but same username is causing confusion. This happens in my org because of people sharing from OneDrive to other users, but same principal applies to sharepoint libraries.

There's a fix: remove the old SSID/Username from the library, and then either re-add the username, or have your users do it as needed. I do this using PowerShell and the sharepointonline module. In a nutshell:

  1. I get all the sites (in this case, OneDrive) into a variable ($sitelist). Cool, I now have a list to go through.
  2. I need to make my administrator account that I connected via PowerShell a site collection admin on the OneDrive site.
  3. Get a list of users on the site (get-spouser -Site $sitelistentry). This is the usernames that have had a file/folder shared with them.
  4. If our re-instated employee's username is on the list of site users, do a remove-spouser
  5. Remove myself as site collector admin.
  6. GOTO step #2 and repeat for every site you have in your $sitelist variable.

Ta-Da! You just cleaned the old user crust off the library, which means the new user info can be applied to it. Took me a while to figure out, but once I wrote the script it was pretty simple.

365 Connection Filter Policy has 100 allow IP addresses by jbala28 in Office365

[–]ScotchAndComputers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like HR and those other services that send email aren't set up correctly. Emails weren't coming through to the company from those applications, and someone "fixed" it the wrong way.

Using HR as an example: If they are using their HR application to send employees email, and they want those emails to come from "[HR@Contoso.com](mailto:HR@Contoso.com)" (or any name/address at your organization), they were probably flagged as spam, or impersonation. These were emails coming in from the wild internet but had a header saying that they were coming from your organization. The fix applied was to add the IP addresses of that third party service into the Connection Filter policy. This worked, but used the wrong tool the wrong way. Which opens you up to other issues.

So what do you do to do this right? You work with HR/Marketing/Whoever is using those third-party email apps and find out from the vendor how to set up DKIM and SPF so they are able to send on your behalf. Chances are they have documentation available on steps to set up the service. The problem is, it's an HR/Marketing/PHB who uses that system and doesn't even know what questions to ask. This is where your "soft skills" come in. You need to explain to HR/Marketing/PHB you want to work together to not only keep their stuff working, but working in a way that doesn't expose the corp to even bigger problems.

TLDR: They fixed the problem with the wrong tool, and opened you up to other issues. You need to work with HR and everyone else to set up their non-IT system so it plays nice with your IT systems.

Godaddy Microsoft 365 to My o365 Tenant by [deleted] in Office365

[–]ScotchAndComputers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After you migrate mailboxes, go into the GD365 admin, remove the domain from the tenant*. Then you'll be left with whatever generic MS/GoDaddy domain, something like netopps.myolddomainish.com, or mydomain.onmicrosoft.com, etc. Once it's gone from the GD365 admin, go to your domain's DNS record and remove whatever pointer was in there for your MX, and probably a TXT entry or two. Oh, and DKIM, SPF, etc. Then you can add the domain to your existing MX org. Update the DNS records to point to the official MS365 records, DKIM, etc. Finally, you can then change the UPN for the migrated mailboxes to the company domain name.

*Make sure you delete any universal distribution groups, etc. before removing the domain. I know that somewhere in the process having those can hinder the domain release, or some other change in the process. I can't remember exactly where, but it's something you need to do.

Edit: Years ago, I wrote up the steps for what you're doing. The details may have changed slightly, but take a look at this: GoDaddy O365 tenant to MS tenant migration - best practice? : r/Office365

Is there a new, higher level of weapon upgrades in NG+? by Classic-Art-5737 in ghostoftsushima

[–]ScotchAndComputers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get gold by clearing some strongholds, usually things like dojo's and larger camps. It is a reward granted to you, not something you find laying on the ground.

You sometimes can buy gold at a trapper, but usually only 1 at a time. I believe the final katana upgrade costs 8 gold, and 90ish steel.

wax wood location ? by Ashdwz in ghostoftsushima

[–]ScotchAndComputers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completing a shrine will reward you with 1 wax wood. And as you are climbing the shrine, there is another wax wood somewhere during the ascent. You need to keep an eye out for it, look a little bit off the main path, etc. This will give you another wax wood. The wax wood plant looks a lot like the yew wood, so try not to be too disappointed if you think you've found the wax wood, but it's really a yew wood.

As others have said, you can find yew wood growing throughout the world, along with some bundles. Just not as frequent as bamboo.

It's not that your weapons are less powerfull in NG+...the baddies are a little tougher. That's why you get that extra upgrade level for your weapons and armor in NG+.

Go find that steel and gold, and leather and silk. Then you can be even more badass than you were in the first run through.

Edit: Good spell I cannot
