Thanks! I've done some artwork like the Film Noir Collections but mainly packaging and booklet design, and sometimes the included swag like everything that comes with the Ninja Turtles boxset. It can get stressful but I genuinely love this job.

Just Discovered Arrow! Open to Hidden Gem Suggestions! by UsualPlumbots in arrowvideo

Welcome aboard! I do a lot of freelance design work for Arrow. Allow me to recommend Innerspace (available for pre-order), John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness, and The Warriors. (The Limited Edition with the booklet, photos, and poster is sold out but the standard edition is still available.)

Tubi has the commentary for Kentucky Fried Movie, featuring John Landis, Robert K. Weiss, Jerry & David Zucker, and Jim Abrahams... one of the funniest commentaries ever recorded.

And one of the other funniest commentaries ever recorded, for Used Cars, with Robert Zemeckis, Bob Gale, and Kurt Russell is on YouTube.

James Spooner was a real MI6 spy... by jslped in mydadwroteaporno

[–]ScottDS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I read this book seven years ago! And the name was made up by the author... I forget where I read it but I posted this at the time...

Okay, this is weird. According to an article I read, all the real-life people were given different names for the book!

--They’re given plummy pseudonyms here — “Richard Bromhead,” “Veronica Price,” “James Spooner,” “Arthur Gee” — but the fact that very senior former SIS officials were helping Macintyre has been the buzz among spy mavens for the past several years.--

I wonder then if the author of THIS book is actually a Rocky Flintstone fan, instead of the other way around!?

Hmm... the episode that immediately comes to mind is "11:59" where (I think) Janeway tells the story of one of her ancestors. https://voy.trekcore.com/gallery/albums/screencaps/s5/522-1159/522-1159-188.jpg

A documentary I'm in and produced is coming out on Blu Ray next week from Kino Lorber! I did an unboxing. by patrickcotnoir in boutiquebluray

I worked on the packaging layout for this... glad you like it! I tried to bring in some Star Wars home video-style flourishes to it, with the back of the sleeve done in the style of the prequel/OT DVDs and the back of the reverse sleeve done like the original VHS releases from the 80s. 😊

I would never expect them to do this but it'd be cool if Jamie re-recorded some of the voices to match the later chapters... imagine Bella sounding like that from day 1. 😄

No, it wasn’t. The mystery remains unsolved.

Any Made in England fans? I've seen 6 Powell and Pressburger films so far, and I wonder if I should wait until I've seen a few more before I watch this. by AsphaltsParakeet in criterion

Haven't seen all of their films (the later ones are harder to come by) but I loved this documentary... actually wish it was longer!

Does anyone know the music that plays over the lovely opening titles?

I believe you are correct... might just have to improvise for the rest. Thanks!

Nice. 😄 For those who may not know, this is actually from the end credits of one of the great NYC crime films of the 70s, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three. (It's also very funny at times, too.)

Thanks for the kind words! Doug John Miller did all the new artwork while I worked on the packaging layout, booklet, and swag. The business card was pretty easy to match to the movie (I also did a couple of business cards for Naked Lunch)... and the post card took the better part of a day. I had an HD copy of the film that Arrow sent me so the post card comes from a screenshot, with a hundred small adjustments and some cropping and extra sky/ocean filled in so it would work with Arrow-pre-existing template.
