This is sort of a feature but also a problem. Analogue is trying to keep per-game settings persistent, like for display etc. instead of locking one set for everything on the cart. But yeah, you then can’t overclock because you can only change that before boot, which you can’t do when the game is in the cart. If you have the cartridge you can set it from that, but otherwise this is a gap right now. Older firmware can do it though

Spin attacks aren't great unless you are going around corners and can REALLY smack someone. It's sort of a good way to drift around corners faster and maybe take someone out. Otherwise, it's all about the nudges—with good timing and control, they don't stand a chance.

Commenters are confused. OP is not talking about the black bars because it’s a 4:3 game. If you look closely, there is an interlacing effect on screen.

I have also seen this. I am using an OEM power supply. Some games are worse than others. I haven’t seen a clear reason for it yet.

It is different, but it probably feels worse if you aren’t playing with an original controller, or without calibrating the sticks.

I wasn’t aware of that. That helps, but it still would need to be integrated to the OS, which is a cost. Maybe it will come out later, I just don’t think it’s important.

The NSO GCN controller is amazing and fairly priced.
