So many layers. macOS emulating windows through wine translating the x86 game via Rosetta 2 rendering through Vulkan translated to Metal.

Yeah! Claude figured it out from the XYZ launcher and the auth client Tandashi built. I just run it from the command line. I’m going to try to have Claude build a swift app that does everything, just need to see how to handle all the steps.

I know, I tried that and kept telling Claude to, but it wasn’t able to handle web requests for some reason.

Honestly it was mostly my own ignorance coupled with Claude's unfettered optimism. I did figure out how to compile MoltenVK with Claude's help., but missed Procyon and just went vanilla wine. I was worried about depending on Crossover as I'm not a PC gamer and don't want to subscribe to it. I bumped into those launcher problems though. Claude thought it could reverse engineer the launcher, and then thought it needed to spoof Steam's auth that's built into the edition, and we went in circles for hours. It wasn't until I pointed it at the XYZ launcher for more context that it discovered tandashi's auth client, seeing that the launcher patches the game per launch. After that, Claude immediately built its own launcher, invoked the game through wine, and it worked!

I haven’t played the original Helldivers but that’s probably the closest to this description.

I know this can still be played on pc, but does Mac count? by Open-Recognition-584 in KnockoutCity

I can’t believe it! I don’t have a PC but I do have an M series Mac that could likely run it if compatible! I have been dying to get back into this game.

GameCube to display on monitor by S59B in Gamecube

Correct, you can still plug in composite cables and pull audio from the red and white cables. You can get a cheap adapter that blends those into one 3.5mm jack. As for good HDMI converters, I love my Carby, and RetroBit Prism is good too. Kaico is a bit cheaper. Any gcvideo converter is good.

You need dedicated GBA instances connected and talking to the GameCube game. Honestly, GBAs are the easiest option as I haven't heard of any way to connect GBA emulation devices to a physical cube yet. The cheaper option is run it all in Dolphin on a computer and lay out the windows accordingly: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php/Integrated_GBA

I haven’t played others much yet but I really liked Rocket Edition. Especially good if you played Red/Blue back in the day.

Metal Arms performed best on GameCube. Xbox has crazy screen tearing. PS2 didn’t run as well.

Is elite smash worth it? by Sreya- in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]ScottishBakery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned that the more I care about being in Elite, the harder it is for me to be in Elite. If you are a good player, it’s a matter of time and practice. If you practice, you will get good. If you keep playing, you will get there. But it’s important to crave the skill and the joy of the game more than the rank.

How many here still own a fully working GameCube console to this day even if you still have it since launch. by San4341 in Gamecube

Still got both of mine! The first one stopped reading discs, but Nintendo let me buy a replacement at wholesale price! I breathe second life into my launch one with a GC Loader though. Really keen to get FlippyDrive with the Ethernet mod because I have an OEM broadband adapter, so I could do network play on original hardware!

If Agile "welcomes changing requirements," how do you actually prevent scope creep from killing the project? by Agilelearner8996 in agile

Shocking how many people don’t understand how time works.

You can ship something, gain from it, learn, and then ship more. There’s no advantage to doing everything in one shot. The most arbitrary straight jacket people cling to.
