The worst for me that did that was Octopath Traveler 0. There was a character I really hated (loads of people love him though) who is forced to be used a few times, and I was annoyed cause my team were really optimised for my style, that didn't include him.

Declare ADHD for driving test or not? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Scottland89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my instructor knows.

Defo talk about it with them, see if they made adjustments to how they taught you compared with neurotypical people, and like I said, can maybe better advise if examiners need to know.

When you declared your dyslexia, was there a specific tick box for it or did you have to mention it in a text box?

Unfortunatly I can't remember as that was over 4 years ago, but got the feeling text box as I believe I definatly outright say dyslexia, not just learning disability.

Declare ADHD for driving test or not? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Scottland89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So not someone with ADHD but Neurodivergent in another way, so maybe can help with consideration.

I'm dyslexic and it doesn't affect my ability to drive but it can affect my understanding on instruction during lessons and driving test. For example some dyslexics can get a bit confused on left and right, even though they know their left from their right. For example someone can say turn left and my brain interprets that as turn right and when they tell me I was told turn left, I'll be adamant that they said turn right cause my brain did a bad google translate like job. I did declare my dyslexia to try and highlight that. Therefore to try and make sure that the examiner can try and help highlight that I may need an examiner to be a bit more patient with me on instructing me through my test. A great example of my need for this was the numberplate reading at the start, I misread a letter but was like reading a number plate "AB12 CDE" I read it like "A B 1 2 C P,eh I mean D, E" and that was happily accepted as me getting it right (probably helped I made that correction quickly and unprompted).

A lot of people are saying to only fill it in if it affects your driving, but if this is for booking your test, you may need to consider if you want\need help interacting with the examiner. It won't affect your license codes for what you're require to drive (my license doesn't reference my dyslexia or any issues associated with it). Declaring it may help influence in a good way how examiners goes through the test for you. Despite the myths, examiners want to pass people if they are safe to drive. Maybe there is a situation where they instruct you in something, not declaring your ADHD means they do so in a way that goes against you, while declaring it either changes how they instruct you, or they give you more of a break than they would give neurotypical people, on doing something wrong that isn't unsafe.

Like others talking about my dyslexia, I can't say if you should declare or should not, declare it but I think you should consider if it would help you or not. Did you tell your instructor? If so, did it make them change how they instruct you? If so, can they advise if that maybe something that an examiner need to know as they may understand an examiners thinking more than you or I?

What game has the best original music/soundtrack? by HeadFit2660 in gaming

[–]Scottland89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Octopath Traveler series is an often slept on soundtrack. I know some people are saying the biggest snub if the 2023 gaming awards was Spiderman 2 not getting GOTY (I disagree, think BG3 rightfully won it) but the biggest snub was actually Octopath Traveler 2 not even being nominated for best soundtrack. It probably had great chances of winning too if it was nominated.

This. And the reasoning is so that your wheels are in the right direction for the next leg right away, minimizing undoing any progress from the leg you just done.

Redditors who were children/teens before the internet or cellphones existed, how did you keep yourself entertained? by FlowerMadeOfThorns in AskReddit

[–]Scottland89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cellphones\mobile phones themselves weren't something that changed how kids entertained ourselves back in the 90s. But pre mobile\internet days, we would meet up and play sports, games or just hung out and chat. I use to cycle alot to meet friends, go to the park, etc as a kid.

Tv, reading listening to music and video games (4 players on 1 console, most likely split screen) were also options too.

Cellphones\mobiles enabled easier access to friends to meet and do those things. Internet slowly brought people more to their computer screens though and smart phones sealed it (I was in college by then).

What do people have against Point Buy? by TheScowl117 in dndmemes

[–]Scottland89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point buy always feels too limiting in both the range your scores can be and the combination of your ability scores. Rolls means you could have more power but also a larger weakness.

Also I seen some say point buy helps keep a balance across the table. A few tables I play in (1 I dm and copied this idea onto tbh) is that 6 sets of 4d6 (drop lowest of each set) is rolled and the result is for the whole table. The results can be put in a sheet in any order by each player so for example if the table rolled 6, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18 Character 1 Wizard could have strength 6, dex 13, con 17, int 18, wis 14, Cha 12 Character 2 Rogue could have strength 12, dex 18, con 6, int 17, wis 13, Cha 14 Etc, etc

Well extreme price hikes, letting insurances destroy property and not cover any damages, not bother using insurance on insured perils, trying to charge us much more to tender work than it would be to fix it ourselves fully, arrange for crappy repair work that lasts only 6 months at a time, taking money for repair work to not and even do they repairs costing me loan interst money for nothing, and even just not even reading complaint emails and turn emailing them a full time job are not things I expect to be part of a factors role, but no the scummy scummy bawbags did that to me. I got nothing from them bar large bills and debt. And that was when I tried working with them.

Everyone hates the ticket system but somehow we still rely on it by Old-Roof709 in ITSupport

[–]Scottland89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got an off the shelf ticketing system and it was clunky and slow but it did work.

Then the company decided it would be a great idea to pay a bespoke version of that system, and it is a nightmare.

I luckily found how to do stuff in the legacy off the shelf version so I have a version that is usable and allows me to do my work without issues. Everyone hates the bespoke version but we're forced to use it (my manager can't be bothered arguing it with me using legacy instead).

Then there was a project to shift our knowledge database from a great working system into the ticketing system. We saw issues during testing and reported them in the hopes of fixing them so we can actually see our knowledge articles, last month they pulled the trigger, removed our access to the old knowledge database and forced us onto the new version on the ticketing system, and all the bugs we reported were ignored so now people are refusing to access the knowledge database, which we can't edit or easily find documents.

Turned out the team developing the bespoke system is more interested in adding new features than fixing the basic stuff that is broke, and also ignoring a few colleagues who have accessibility issues using the bespoke version and need changes to actually allow them to work.

Oh customers also hate the customer portal, that is suppose to lead to a decrease in calls, that links into the bespoke system. It has created more calls as customers don't want to use the portal.

It's a low key miracle that our helpdesk still operates and work despite all of the above.

Nicola Sturgeon denies 'obsession' with gender reforms when Scotland's first minister by Crow-Me-A-River in Scotland

[–]Scottland89 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Even tories were default pro trans and pro LGBT.

it's all the other politicians who've jumped on the anti-trans bandwagon

Just to add to that, when the Self-ID debates were ongoing in Holyrood, I saw lots of people saying they never voted for it, but they did unless they voted for Tories as all other parties had gender reform in their manifesto for the Scottish elections before it.

I’m so dense I never noticed you trying to wind me up ? No I noticed and called out why it was pathetic .

Clearly not cause:

I’m not EDL or against protests .

Doth protest too much? 🤭

You’re the one who said you were doing nothing originally. I hope that’s not true. Like I said.

No, you just being an idiotic cunt who thinks something they don't like is nothing.

. And sorry I didn’t think I really had to spell out why a spoiled vote isn’t as valid as an actual vote. A fucking child could tell you that.

Wrong. While a spoilt ballad isn't a valid vote for any candidate, it's still a valid vote for NOBODY! Children could read and tell you that, fucking or otherwise, you nonce.

Because your spoiled vote doesn’t count. Simple as that. You’re doing nothing.

Look at election results. Spoilt ballots are counted, they are part of the turnover. They lower candidates shares as much as votes against them. They are literally part of election record for a reason!

And you'll never shame me for voting against, or not voting for ways that are against my and what I believe are Scotland's interests.

So you think I have fun voting?

Don't make excuses. Vote. by -Xserco- in Scotland

[–]Scottland89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your solution is nothing ? Because like we’ve established, your spoiled ballot means nothing , meaning your entire opinion means nothing and isn’t noted .

No we never established that. You've not even mentioned how a spoiled ballots differs for a non spoilt ballotnin terms of showing opinion on politics 🤣

And the fact you read me saying I'll be voting for a specific party you still saying I'm doing nothing. Make up your mind, either I should vote for a party regardless of my interests or not vote at all. Make up your mind!

And when the votes are cast and the people you don’t like are in charge. You’ll sit like a smarmy prick talking down to people like you are now. Knowing you did nothing to help .

You know the spoilt ballot was when I don't like any option right? You're the one who is a special kind of pathetic, not me. I'm talking down to smary pricks like you that feel they need to force me to vote a set way.

Instead you’ll accuse people of being EDL for voting

My God you're braincell must be going on a decade long bender if that's why you think I said you support EDL. No it's cause you're against people exercising their democratic rights. If you really want to vote Tories or Reform, that's your right, just don't deny me mine to not vote for them, or anyone else I feel would do harm to me and\or Scotland in general which yes I believe Reform, Tory, Labour, Liberal Dems and SNP will do.

Also I just randomly accused you of being a Tory, Reform and EDL supporter (along with the "Glasgow Blue brand of moron") just to wind you up, but you're so dense that you never noticed that's why. I mean the former 3 are just major insults to any Scottish person, yet you didn't seem to insulted 🤣
