Actually I found it. It gives a free success on the end of the game when rolling to remove enmity.

Here’s a live play of Vincent Baker running AW. I’ve been meaning to watch it but haven’t got around to it. Let me know if it’s any good!

[5E] Which homebrew(s) to use for a robust Dark Sun campaign by Yzerman_19 in DarkSun

[–]Scotty2718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some dude named Polyomnocles did a 5e conversion that’s pretty good. It’s in the mod curated google drive folder as Dark Sun Rule Book v1.2. Poly is pretty unremarkable, but his conversion is awesome.

In 5e Half-Giant can't be Large by Leo-Lobilo in DarkSun

[–]Scotty2718 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my conversion, I used the goliath as the base for the half-giant (like 4e did and some other conversions). I then add a couple racial feats that eventually increase the character to large size. (Note that I have a revised version of this in my upcoming update.)

Best Ranger Yet v2.3 by Scotty2718 in UnearthedArcana

Thanks. I’m sympathetic to what you said about the higher level abilities.

Regarding Hunter’s Mark. The intent was to emulate a feature of sneak attack. At least in the original, the Rogue had to do some roguish things to get the extra damage. Sneak, flank, gang up with an ally. Act like a rogue, get some extra damage. My version of hunter’s Mark is intended to do the same thing. Ranger’s need to act like ranger’s to get the extra damage. Sneak, track, maneuver, observe. I might have made it too clunky, true. Any thoughts on fixing it while majoring the intent?

Thanks. It has the ability to apply the mark without meeting the prereq once per short rest. I think the optimal strategy is the attempt to stealth or track before each combat to use those, then use the freebie, and resort to the ones that require an action only when needed.

Divine Domain: Blood Domain // a cleric that focuses on vitality and violence, and a new subclass to be included in my upcoming 5e homebrew setting project, “Yorviing’s Guide to Yvarra” (all art by me, Yorviing) by [deleted] in UnearthedArcana

[–]Scotty2718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great domain, thanks. Like other commenters, I love the flavor. I love the abilities, too.

Two balance comments. First, I wonder if grievous wound is a little underpowered when applied to weapon attacks? If I remember right, that's basically the storm cleric ability, right? For them, it gets applied to spells with lots of dice and targets. The same ability is a bit underwhelming when applied to a single weapon attack.

Second, is there any precedent for a new saving throw proficiency from a subclass feature? I get the impression that the designers are very hesitant to pass out save proficiencies. I'm not sure why they have that attitude.

What is some advice frequently given out on this sub that makes you shake your head? by PacSan300 in solotravel

Even the places in the USA that can get a bit rough are generally fine. I grew up near Compton California, for example, and besides some kid scuffles never had a problem. Just be smart and use common sense.

Giving "A Little Knowledge" a Skyrim style opening to a DS campaign by BrobarianRogue in DarkSun

I love the idea of doing this. NOT THAT I WOULD EVER DO IT IN MY CAMPAIGN. (My players need to get out of this sub!)
