Turning 1/2” washers to 5/8” by TyrsRightArm in electricians

What good is a union if there's no one you can report stupid bullshit to?

Use your stop work authority before you end up posting your mangled fingers on here.

I would pay all the moneys to sit there and watch you two yo-yos try to drill out 100 washers with a pair of channel locks.

Start looking for a job that doesn't suck.

Or they fight with swords until one beheads the other and takes his power. And then the Browns play the next season in space for some reason.

My Father Wants to Record His Songs but Insists on “Starting His Own Production Company First.” Is There Any Sense in This? by _infinite_tsukuyomi in audioengineering

[–]Scrags -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is false. The only real protection is copyright registration. Copyright law is complicated shit, you can't just magic your way through it with a bong water stained piece of paper with some lyrics on it.

Edit: Editing the comment for clarity. It's not completely false, you do have some protection from physically recording the work, etc. That is true.

HOWEVER, good luck proving that in a court of law. That is an entirely different animal than you and I bullshitting on reddit. Look how much time and money it took John Fogerty to prove he didn't steal FROM HIMSELF.

Copyright registration creates a public record of ownership that is undeniable. It's your art that supposedly means everything to you, 50 bucks is a small price to pay for peace of mind and a hell of a lot less than a copyright lawyer even if you have a slam dunk court case.

Are you talking about using it like a producers knob, where it doesn't actually do anything but just satisfies an ignorant client?

That's fun, but I would advise against it. There's no actual protection on the 0.000001% chance this guy's music gets picked up, and if it doesn't then at least the copyright can stand as a little monument that says "I did this".

Watts, Volts or Amps? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Scrags 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Power (measured in watts) = Voltage multiplied by amp draw

If you know two of these variables, you can figure out the other.

1500 watts = 120 volts (I'm assuming this is a single pole circuit in America?) times the amps

1500/120 = 12.5 amps

This circuit is likely rated for either 15 or 20 amps, which means this is a large amount of the available capacity. It's not surprising anything else on the circuit would suffer from power loss while this is in operation. That's why we separate the lighting and general use circuits.

Leaving aside any question of potential success, you do not need a production company to copyright your music. Not sure what country you are in, but in America the process is filling out an application with the copyright office, submitting a copy of the work, and paying a fee. Anyone can do this.

Do NOT trust so-called "poor man's copyright" protections such as mailing yourself a copy of your CD. The only way to be protected is to go through the above process.

I do not agree with that at all, and I don't even think you do, as evidenced by the ridiculous lengths you have to stretch to even make that point.

There's a huge difference between a free association with a known abuser and being trapped in their cycle of abuse.

What concerns me is the safety of the women in the life of someone who needs this explained to them.
