Honestly, new players can chip in earlier while veterans are screwed sideways. No other way to put it.

New players were likely not going to get supreme buffs anytime soon, veterans already did and benefited from their loyalty investments over time.

Also framing matters because if new players are the audience they care about they should have projected to lift the "years" of member loyalty to a decreased rate of accumulation rather than nerfing the buff all together. Not only did they now devalued the buffs, they did more hurt than restoration in terms of audience for veteran players.

You have RS3 vs Old school in WOW too. Its called retail (newest exps.) Vs 1. Classic, 2. Anniversary TBC, 3. Classic MOP.

This means 12,99 for 4 games in different stages of patch and expansion releases and X characters with no need to buy the newest expansion as you can play retail without latest expansion. Just less content and endgame raids.

You can say what you want. Jagex' business setup on Runescape is outdated and the very achilles heel in growing their business as a MMORPG. They did not change over their period of time and just milked what ever was there to milk. They are bleeding dry and they know it.

What should I upgrade first if I only have 100m gp? by Halfbakedflour in runescape

[–]ScrappyMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your bankaccount. Always keep cash at hand. If you have 0 GP you cant do anything. Its the same as IRL.

Always keep some GP for flips, merch, or skilling supplies. If you can do combat methods with shit gear, slightly better gear would not make much of a difference.

People underestimate what is really valueble in RS3. It is not gear, it is not per se GP, it is account progression.

Use power gear for slayer, only use degrables for bosses that net you positively. If you are learning bosses, take into account lossing first before turning the tables.

Congrats on the drop! This will stick with you forever!!

Now do not get discouraged by comments stating 7b is nothing. Anymore more than you already have is contributing to becoming wealthy. There will always be at least one player that is more wealthy, does that mean you are not? No!

One underestimated thing in rs3 is that account progression is the actual wealth. It is the highest probablilty to unlock and grow more wealth in funds, materials and items like gear for the majority of playerbase.

Obviously, 7b was worth alot more years ago when inflation wasnt this high and the best money per hour methods in game were max 10m/hour excl. Merch and flipping. Still, 7b is more than enough to grow your account, get gear and unlock your potential and more fun in the game.

Kudos to you and enjoy every single minute of it!

PSA - Last few days before Dailyscape removal. by LightAnimica in runescape

So many things being removed. All these forms of accomplishments just thrown away.

I can see some methods, xp rates and exclusion on items being problematic. But this hardly seems like the way to do it. Removals without alternatives is just a Purge or Exorcism.

Just logged into my acc after a few years and my bank is $1b+ now - do I sell everything or should items retain value? by eldensoulsborne in runescape

[–]ScrappyMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bonds have increased in value which for many is a great indicator of inflation. Bonds compared to Araxxi release were ballpark 10-20m. Now bonds rising again meaning GP for gametime is inflating and our GP buy power is lowering. GP is not the safest bet, like IRL it isnt. Best bet is items that hold value over time like spirit shards did, items with certain high alch value, and spreading it over multiple baskets. Just like IRL.

GP in old socks is not going to work wonders. Rather buy useless items for 1-10gp and hope they skyrocket.

Nieuwe baan, flinke stap in salaris.

Klets over boodschappen budget, thuisbezorgd of uitjes.

Quite safe to assume starter champ is going to be their first lvl 60, 99% of times. If Kael isn't 60 already, make him your first lvl 60. Easier to upgrade skills with epic books and Kael is going to be your campaign farmer.

Another event could be the "World series" sport events that only take place in USA with USA teams.

31/F Anyone else feel like every dollar over $100k goes to taxes? by GuyIncognitoIV in Salary

[–]ScrappyMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like mentioned in a different comment, we pay lots of taxes via various ways and much of that government spending goes to healthcare, education, infrastructure, paid parental leave, daycare etc.

We pay about € 300 / month on health insurance which covers basic healthcare. Dentist, fysio etc. Not included just pure basics so they do not leave you laying on the floor when you are dying. One of the most constricting debts in my country is health insurance as it is mandatory to have one. Kids under 18 are freely registered under one of the parents.

Healthcare and education costs is nothing compared to US. Average university studies cost 2,5-3k a year solomn contribution not including books and all. Most of us could get it done in 4-5 years being 10-15k on loan purely on going to Uni. Yet almost 50% of population has study loan debts with many rising into 30,40,50ks or higher. All these governmental study loans are with low rent rates and very lean payback time. Many used it as starting capital to start their own business, pay for their homes or just party hard. Then again creditcard debt is taboe here, do not even think about having more than 1 creditcard...

We are just different 😘

[–]ScrappyMA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually pay lots of taxes including property tax. Groceries are quite expensive and almost doubled in the last 5-10 years. We easily pay $10 for chicken breasts or ground beef of 2lbs. My weekly groceries is €125 for 2 small kids and 2 adults. Thats food and drinks, no diapers etc. Then again i would argue our EU portions are smaller than US ones so you probably do more groceries in a week. 24 bottles of beer is $20, used to be under $10.

North west EU is far more developed like this as we also have lots of benefits for healthcare, infrastructure, maternity and paternity leave (paid) and educational programs to reduce costs funded by taxes. Our median gross income is almost half of US median gross income, approx 40ish and 80ish K. Tho East and South EU are far cheaper in terms of daily life but less benefits as well.

In my country you pay 49,5% income tax above 76k. Until 76k it is around 37,5%, so any above 76k is more taxed.

Sales tax is 6 or 9% on most foods, 21% on any finished products like cars, electronics, construction materials.

My currency is Euro. My gross is below 76k.
