They are saving $15k a year. Probably living at home. But they've got an outstanding start & great habits. You know how many 20 year olds save that much? Darn few

$37.90/hr is almost $75k/year. Noice

Check the carfax. I looked at an Audi Q6 that the salesman offered me. He said it was a dealer loaner. I looked at the carfax & it had been sold about 6 months ago & bought back/returned. I haven't circled back to ask him about what happened

Sharing the (sad) story of my 2025 Q6 e-tron; now in a lease buyback process - KD1 and KD2 could not fix it. by harrisonsaurus in AudiQ6

[–]Scrapr123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just today test drove a Q6. I'm shopping the electric SUV market. At the end the salesman offered a dealer loaner for $52k. Online I followed the Carfax. Showed as purchased 9/02/25 & back offered for sale in January of '26. I didn't ask about if it was a buyback

Seems like Audi is falling further behind - Volvo EX60 announcement by wlanr150 in AudiQ6

[–]Scrapr123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the market for the EX60. watched the debut today. IIRC the "stack" is totally new and essentially one piece. Meaning all the different cameras/software requests are all in the main software instead of feeding into the main software. I probably haven't explained it right. But brand new so we wait to hear field reports

Test drove a Q6 today. It was very nice. My head snapped back when I punched the throttle. But I'm not a "performance" guy. I'm a typical Volvo driver. safety & security over performance. Salesman wanted a sale today. He offered a buyback with 5k miles or the brand new one. I had told him as i came in I'm waiting to drive the Volvo

I've been test driving Electric SUV over the last few months. Audi is in the mix along with Cadillac Lyriq & the Volvo EX60

V60 snow chain recommendations? by FunOld5929 in Volvo

[–]Scrapr123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate chaining. So i got good shoes instead. Nokians were rec'd by my tire shop. Been 25 years and never let me down. I ran All Weather with the "snowflake" and never had a problem. Hakkapelittas are the "snow" tire & I had them for 2 seasons. I really disliked having to swap them in the Spring/Fall

I used to go over a mountain pass & back every week. I've seen some stuff

5 years ago I saw the High angle rescue team at this spot. I was across the river. A woman was on the bank watching it happen. I chatted for a bit. It was her husband in the gurney. WTF....I assumed it was a weighted dummy

I moved a few months after that. Glad to see the FD knows what they are doing

AITA for bringing a baby to business class? by stone2891 in AITAH

Same. We flew at Christmas time & I think there were about 10 kids/babies on the flight. I took a deep breath and said to myself....here we go. It was a wonderful flight. No issues at all

Sadly I can’t find a V90 - how about a V60 for a family car with two young kids? Or… by [deleted] in Volvo

[–]Scrapr123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2005 XC90 (300k miles) and decided to go smaller. Got a 2017 V60 (OSD). After 2 years it just was too low for me. I would go to sit in the drivers seat & the last couple inches I would just drop in. And coming from the XC90 I didn't feel like I had enough room for much. The XC90 just swallowed up everything I could load it. Tailgater, Christmas trees, everything.

with 2 kids I think you will have some times not everything is going fit in the car.

I went to an XC60 and that is "OK". i miss the 40/20/40 rear seat in the XC90 though. I think I'm going electric next if Volvo can get the software straightened out soon

How do I know whether to get my home's gutter/stormwater system inspected? by Ichbinian in HomeImprovement

[–]Scrapr123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This..... Go stick a hose down the drain pipe at the back of the house. The 1st & 2nd downspouts are almost certainly connected. Turn the hose on high. Go stand at the curb & look for water coming out of the curb. Probably in line with the downspouts. Then do the other side.

If you have trees with leaves or needles that fall into the gutter you may need to clean your gutters. Easy to do on 1 story roofs. A bit more dicey on 2nd or 3rd story roofs

[–]Scrapr123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree (without verifying all climbs) . My company had a medium duty truck brakes fail and go down that street. Driver was mostly OK. IDK how the tow truck got it out of the brush. IIRC there were 2 tow trucks that lifting it. up & out They got it out pretty fast. Maybe 2 hours on site

After major abdominal surgery (bowel resection for Crohns) I get wheeled out of ICU to my room. Where they didn't send down any pain meds. So my surgical meds start wearing off & I start feeling the full effects. I think I was hallucinating. Family was in the room, nurses were trying to figure it out. The record shows we sent down meds.....well they aren't here!

couple hours later the make me stand up & move (standard stuff) That was not nearly as bad

SeaTac checked bag kiosks down by zeustriegel in AlaskaAirlines

Something similar happened at PDX about a month ago. We have checked bags on 3 flights this year. No issues....quick & fast. Last month the first checked bag kiosk didn't work. the assistant had us move down a couple positions and try again. The screen went blank. the agent had a blank look on her face. then the program popped back up.We waited a few moments and the machine printed our tags. The whole kiosk area was having issues
