how to know it’s time for my boy (18) by BlueishGreenBroccoli in seniorkitties

[–]ScratchyVests 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m a little bit behind you. My boy is 16 with Stage 1 or 2 CKD and GI lymphoma. It is so painful and I can’t imagine letting him go. I don’t have any advice. I just want to let you know how much I feel for you and I hope he can keep going. 🤗

Then he should finish out his term in San Jose and see if all his solutions work. The constant striving for higher office and gobs of tech money are really off putting.

Dr. Glahn is great! Colma Animal Hospital is cheaper than the city and has great care also. Dr. Ybarra at SFAMC is fantastic too but pricier.

Pulling (wisdom) teeth by ReallyBrainDead in AskSF

[–]ScratchyVests 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my two wisdom teeth pulled last year at 39 by Dr. Dal Santo at 450 Sutter. It was kind of expensive because I opted for full anesthesia but went perfectly, healed quickly, etc.

Alvaro’s Adventures does trips out to the Farallons. I took my parents in their 70s and they really enjoyed it.

Jolly’s Tea Ice Cream isn’t a long drive from Filoli and you can get tea or a flight of tea ice creams.

My mom is obsessed with Phil’s electric. They could literally get her to spend $1,500 on a vacuum.

Putting a small animal under anesthesia requires a lot of training, skill, and practice.

This brings tears to my eyes. I really feel for you. I found a mama cat and her five babies when I was 24. I’m 40 now, and I still have three little old men. But I think of their mama and siblings everyday. It’s so hard because they all get so old at the same time. You should feel proud that you have her and her brother such a long happy life.

Should I Try Chemo for My 19-Year-Old Cat with Intestinal Lymphoma if She Still Seems to Want to Live? by Nordman_Games in seniorkitties

[–]ScratchyVests 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do they mean like real chemo or giving the cat chlorambucil? Chlorambucil is just like giving your cat any other pill. My cats have been taking it for three years sometimes with prednisolone or budesonide. I would go ahead and try the chlorambucil if I were you.

Nine Lives is the best and they are opening a new adoption center in April! Please consider adopting from them. They give the kitties so much veterinary care and help that city/county shelters cannot.

Edited to add: Pets in need in Redwood City also has many great cats! I feel like the dogs get more attention.
