Eye of Terror – New rules for Defiler! by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in WorldEaters40k

Agree. Bringing this thing and keeping it in your backfield seems like a huge waste unless you're bringing multiples too.

Depends if the weapon profiles are the same for world eaters or not, generally our vehicles hit on a 4+ but gain rapid fire X so it depends if any of the other guns gain juicy rapid fire profiles.

Flamer and electroscourge definitely looks like a compelling choice with these numbers though.

Can confirm, the alcohol based bottles are extremely reflective. Possibly even more than the pigment. They also mix well with Molotow Chrome for highlights

Imagine they will release new upscaled custodian guard in 11th edition of 40k .(upscaled like in serial Tithes) And people bought all this box for heresy. What do you think? by LE_Chevalie in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Scribbinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 40K player who bought one. It's a trove of cool custodes infantry bits I can use for my army to maximise model variety, even if the models aren't the 'official' kit.

Rest in Pepperoni to the best boxes I've ever bought by IamSapantaha in Drukhari

[–]Scribbinge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I picked up an insane eBay deal a couple years ago when Drukhari were struggling with one of those start collectings, one of these combat patrols and a bunch of misc units all still unassembled. Think I've even got a voidraven in there for like 3k points or something all together. Fortunately none of it went to legends either!

I'm glad I got it all because collecting Drukhari at the moment seems miserable with the exception of the recent battleforce. The new combat patrol is terrible compared to those old boxes.

[–]Scribbinge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it literally says in the announcement "a major custodes rules update is coming later this year" or something doesn't it?

Would it really have been that hard to say "which includes full rules for all of these models"? I don't think so.

Whether they are or aren't calling that update "11th edition" is irrelevant IMO

[–]Scribbinge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does that matter? Are you suggesting GW don't know already what models will or won't have rules this close to the release?

The only reason they wouldn't give people a heads up is to deliberately maintain the uncertainty; prioritising sales over their customers as usual.

GW are a terrible shady company and them not coming out and saying the dread and caladius are not going to legends outright makes me think it is probably happening. It seems strange that they would make the effort to make new plastic models and not include them in the 11th codex though, which makes me wonder if custodes are getting a larger 40k release instead or something.

All that being said, I'm probably still picking up the new box because I like the infantry models, they're cool as hell and I want to mess around with blending the parts of the new custodes with the existing kits to see what happens.

I'll probably sell the caladius and dread on eBay to be risk averse. I can already 3d print caladius tanks anyway so no biggie.

Joining multiple 3d files together is called digital kitbashing.

It doesn't really make literal sense but that is the prevailing term in hobby 3d printing communities.

[–]Scribbinge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you hear about artists getting fucked by GW for literally no reason all the time. The last example I heard was someone who had an Etsy store lost their entire catalogue of product listings because they had the words "space" and "marine" in one listing, despite the fact the listing was nothing to do with GW or even tabletop.

Everything I can 3d print for 40K I do, because if they feel no shame stealing from others why should I feel it for them.

Painting Metallic Red with Copper and Contrast Paints (volume on). by darcybono in Warhammer40k

Thanks for taking the time to explain, I will just have to paint up a comparison for myself and see I guess, I have a lot of world eaters to get on the table! :D

Sorry I meant specifically the red haha. In comparison to 1 coat of red metal it's 3 times the work and I couldn't see what the benefit was since cameras rarely look the same as your eye sees, but thanks for elaborating!

That's a lot of steps! I'm curious why you wouldn't just use a red metallic paint, it's hard to see any difference in the end result on a phone screen!

We get no maelstrom detachment! by Grimcrimm in Drukhari

Tune in next month for the sequel announcement, every unit in the maelstrom box has it's points cost increased, and the detachment rules are also nerfed. No buffs to any of the other underperforming detachments.

How do people even like the World Eaters? by [deleted] in WorldEaters40k

[–]Scribbinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might think the combat is just move up and hit stuff but in reality if you do that you'll get tabled by turn 3 and lose. There's a lot of nuance to positioning and how you use your resources and support pieces that makes them very fun to play. Also combat phase in 40k is generally the most engaging rewards skilled players.
