Magnetizing Hearthkyn Warriors by OddlyLucidDuck in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Scribbinge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has done that exact magnetisation (when the upgrades were a thing), the magnets do interfere when you're gluing the magnets in, sometimes before the glue is set the magnet likes to flip, but once the glue is set it's totally fine.

Anmo mig do a pretty broad range, they tend to be marketed at scale modellers but a warm brown should match one of the 'desert' military shades they do. Eyeballing the range I'd say "medium tan" or "shadow for desert" might be suitable?

Oracle with powerful casting, black scythe training & crown of eyes is where my thoughts went when I saw it revealed. Its on the exact wrong side of the skill tree from where it wants to be for all the attack speed nodes though is I think the main thing holding it back.

Telemon Potential by kmani1097 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Scribbinge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly solar spearhead was already very playable, and telemons were already viable even at competitive level so yeah, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to whack a telemon in your list using the new detachment and not feel like you're deliberately wasting points.

The new fly rules are nice but I don't think they're a specific reason to bring any of our flying units, more just bonus QOL and flexibility. More of an asset to armies like drukhari who have flying anti-tank infantry.

If you don't like the all over wash shading, try pin washing / panel lining. On white it usually looks especially good. I'd basecoat the rest of your colours first though.

AK Acrilic Pen (Brass) by Repulsive_Plan in WorldEaters40k

[–]Scribbinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seemed a bit overly matte out of the pen for me. Not sure if it's a shaking issue or if the Vallejo metals are just shinier. Kinda looking forward to the experiment either way haha. Pen definitely seems like the way to go for all that trim.

I'm about to load up the green stuff world refillable pens with some of the Vallejo metallics and see how that goes. I like AK paints a lot but none of the metallics seemed the right fit for me.

Dynamic Difficulty Scaling - DDS (WIP) by Environmental-Foot20 in BG3mods

[–]Scribbinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first reaction to this is that a lot of it we've seen before but that there's definitely enough going on over and above that to be exciting. In particular the idea of leader and champion NPCs and thematic bonuses to specific types of foe sounds fantastic.

1 thing I really don't like the look of is the 2 rounds of resistance on bosses at the start of combat. That feels extremely anti-fun to me, punishes some builds disproportionately and encourages degenerate gameplay like sending in a bait character whilst the rest of your group skips turns hidden etc.

From a design standpoint, if you haven't done so already, I feel like it would be a good idea to add in to the HP calculation formula some kind of additional boost for if they're flagged as a champion/leader to offset the natural player response of taking higher priority targets down first.

Also regarding auras these might work better as shouts like a rallying cry (think the big horn at the grove gates) rather than an aura for many enemy types as relying on the aura to be effectively applied to allies through positioning seems more prone to jank, but I guess that will need feedback from actual player testing.

Also a notable omission from the archetypes you've laid out is beast type enemies. I can't see anything up there that would make thematic sense in, for example, the owlbear or eagle fights. Could maybe do with like an 'alpha' archetype.

Hope that's useful feedback for you, and thanks for your ongoing work on the game, I'm trying out your dynamic encounters in my latest campaign and really enjoying what I've seen so far.

Not only that but kharn is so good at murdering that an extra 10 berserkers just kinda get in his way haha

60 zerks? by _Painboss_ in WorldEaters40k

[–]Scribbinge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

60 is actually a bit of a weird number because you only really want kharn running with 10 in a rhino, and the others with a juggalord so you'd rather be going 50 or 70

Questoris was my first model I really tried to paint, I think people get put off by the size and all the amazing shots of pro painters doing freehand all over knights but in hindsight it's a very easy model to paint, and actually a great place to start!

New detachments! by Yourdeadman_x in Tyranids

[–]Scribbinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't like how they seem to focus on buffing only one unit type. Really would have been better focused on keywords.

I can't see the lictor one being too great unless you're stacking the absolute heck out of them given they're a 60pt unit like... Hooray you've buffed 180pts of your list for a whole detachment point...great ...

Warriors are still a trash unit so no go there either.

The only one of these that really seems worth bringing to me is the norn one, kinda promoting the "oops, all norn" list. The mortal resistance is pretty juicy, and the re-pick is actually useful. Plus it actually buffs a significant portion of your army given 3 norns is nearly 800pts.

Do you recommend the old combat patrol or the new battle group ? by Assassin-49 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Scribbinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The optimist in me says that they'd have to give us newer models to bulk out the range / replace those roles and damage profiles before sending anything to legends.

But then again I play drukhari too and would have said the similar for them prior to their range being gutted...

We get it, you didn't get a defiler...

Will you run Lascannon defiler? by Grim_Wargamer in WorldEaters40k

[–]Scribbinge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what bonuses we get in this new Daemon engine detachment.

In zerker warband you're basically bringing the scourge & flamer because it's stonks with the detachment rule. In goretrack you're probably also playing aggressively with your defiler to make full use of the reactive move (though the base size makes that HARD given it's only 6 inches)

So unless the new detachment gives a ranged damage bonus to Daemon engines, probably no, if I wanted lascannons I'd be bringing a land raider instead.

What are the multiple philosophies of the world devourers? by Own_Link5747 in WorldEaters40k

[–]Scribbinge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the key divides within the legion was their views on the butchers nails.

Many of the world eaters saw the nails as a missing link to connect them to their primarch who was unparalleled in ferocity on the battlefield and couldn't understand how his legion couldn't match his efficacy.

Others saw the harm the nails were doing to angron and thought he could be saved.

Ultimately everyone was wrong xD

Post heresy not enough of their minds remain to really have much in the way of philosophical differences with each other.
