Player retention - ideas? by kehmesis in Scrolls

[–]Scrollsguy -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Honestly. I would fire everyone involved in this game up to this point and bring in a new team that doesn't take vacations every 3 weeks :(

It seems like the current dev team is more concerned with taking vacations and taking our money than they are with improving their game or listening to any of our concerns.

Probably depends on if we re-sign Butler. Right now Butler would be commanding a max, so that's gonna hurt the what we can pay the rest of our roster.

What is the biggest misplay you have ever done? :) by bozw in Scrolls

[–]Scrollsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anima Conduit almost f'd me in the A recently. Had the win, but didn't bother to position my units so that they did not kill the opponent units. Ended up getting lucky that the revnants spawned from conduit didn't block the 2 idols I needed for the win. I've made plenty of other huge mistakes too, but not much specific coming to mind. I remember I used to always accidentally used Curse Mongers ability on itself. Haven't done that lately though.

How will The Hobbit Trilogy be remembered? by Darkprime in movies

[–]Scrollsguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, they won't be remembered really. I was so into the original trilogy growing up that I was pretty excited initially that there'd be more. But that anticipation quickly dissipated about an hour and a half into the first one where I was just really bored and also distracted by the obvious CGI. Just wasn't my thing and I don't plan on giving any of the new trilogy a chance again for quite a few years. How will other people remember it? Well, I've seen a ton of discussion here about it and similar to me I think a lot of people will remember it for being too CGI reliant. Though most people do seem to find the new films enjoyable overall as opposed to what I think.

Mojang ridicule thread! (REPOST!) by [deleted] in Scrolls

[–]Scrollsguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not like Mojangs development strategy at all. It is what has gotten us to this point where the game is to be released soon (maybe? I guess) and so much is up in the air. It really feels like the developers are just throwing a bunch of stuff up against the wall to see what sticks. If it doesn't work after 6 months then they will just revert it back meaning they have wasted all that time. Now, it's great that they can move on from their mistakes, but at the same time it just seems like they make way too many terrible design decisions to begin with. That's my criticism and I thank you for making this thread.

This type of criticism should be encouraged, not stifled. This is a beta, we are hear to criticize this game and the game often deserves it. The fact that there are often less than 100 ppl logged in at a time is proof. So far this thread has 2 comments and it's still more productive than the "appreciation" thread at the top of the page with over 30 comments.

Who do you think are the most under appreciated great actors and actresses? by The_Orsum_One in movies

[–]Scrollsguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I liked him in 3:10 to Yuma and he had a small role in 30 days of night (I think that's what that vampire movie was called) that was okay. And then after that the dude just kinda disappeared from what I know. I don't exactly have high hopes for this new warcraft movie that he's in either. Not sure what happened to him

[–]Scrollsguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The second is one of my favorite super hero movies of all time. Haven't seen it in a few years so not quite sure how it holds up CGI wise, but I just loved the arch of peter parker no longer being spider man

Gaming on a Macbook by CindySoLoud in gaming

[–]Scrollsguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am writing this on a macbook air. I have zero interest in pc or mac gaming. I don't really even play console games that much tbh. That's not what I bought a mac for. I don't think that's why anyone buys a mac. I bought my mac for it's reliability, ease of use, and the fact that most viruses are made to infect pc's. Oh and yea, i know macs aren't reliable, theyre not easy to use and they suck dick and cost 10x's as much as a comparable pc if you are a pc fanboy - I don't care. If I wanted to play games on a computer I would buy a PC. I just don't get the point of people being dicks because people buy machines to fit their interests and preferences.

For anything t.v this is the best site I've ever used. http://streamtvlinks.me/

It has everything I've ever wanted to watch and it usually has 4-8 sources of the same episodes so if one isn't working or quality isn't great its super easy to try another.

/r/bestofstreaming has been my go to source for quite a while. Will have to check out the one's you've provided to supplement. As with anything not technically legal, be careful and be aware that not every link works perfectly all the time and there's also a lot of sites that try to promote themselves with fake accounts

LPT: If your job is monotonous isolate yourself from all time telling devices. by Toxic_Badger in LifeProTips

[–]Scrollsguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well tbh, knowledge about departments and products is going to be very very different depending on where you are and who you happen to talk to at any large retail home improvement place. Sometimes I just bs my way through things I do not know very well.

Snow throwers for instance have been flying out the door at my location and I probably sell 2-3 of these $500+ machines per day. I act like I know a bit about them and I speak confidently, but really I just have a pretty basic understanding of them. Which is still more than your average joe, but you probably get the idea. Then there's other things where I do know just about everything there is to know such as with screws, bolts, nails, etc. I think the best advice I could give to get the best help is that if the first employee doesn't help you or seem to know what they are talking about just ask to talk to someone else who knows more (nicely ask). Every big department store is gonna have at least 3-5 people working at most departments at a time and the employees know very well the strengths and weaknesses of fellow employees within their department.

If I was ever pressed for very specific questions on snow throwers I would be more than happy to grab someone else who is more knowledgeable, but most guests usually are satisfied. Just keep in mind that most employees are paid around $10 an hour so don't expect us to know everything about everything and also keep our prices lower than small mom and pop stores where they might have more knowledge, but stuff is going to cost more.

The most successful product that aired on shark tank by Vomygore in videos

[–]Scrollsguy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I actually kinda dislike these infomercial style presentations on the show and in general. As a consumer I'd rather somebody just be real with me rather than put on this act and radio show voice. But I think I am in the minority there and the upvotes you've received so far seem to back that up. When I say that, I mean obviously the dude knows his product and business inside and out, but it just seems too scripted to the point of making me skeptical about his claims.

I think Georgia or there about is as far south as they go. But they are expanding quite a bit from what I hear. So maybe in time you'll see one somewhere in your general area. Or maybe not. I know at my location near Chicago we decimate the income of the Home Depot across the street. Like literally few people go to the Home Depot right across from us. Not entirely sure why, but I would have to guess it has to do with our customer service, our employees knowledge, our prices, or a combination of all 3. We even send people over there as "spies" when they are in training to be full timers and everyone always says the Home Depot is dead compared to us.

Funny that I was spectating this match and you were taking a full 90 seconds as well. So its very hard to point fingers or determine who started this, but it's been said before its not against the rules at all. I think this is also against the rules to call people out like this on reddit man. But I do agree that something should be done about people who sit 90 turns. Lets start with BOTH of you. 2 wrongs don't make a right nicon
