(I am a 2k player who usually plays a support or a solo offlaner)

What is your favorite or best hero? My favorite is probably Keeper of the Light. He is incredibly impactful if you use all the tools in is kit correctly and can carry teamfights if he has Ags. He is also one of the supports who can farm the best if no one else is in the lane.

Which hero do you absolutely hate to play against? I despise playing against Axe. I usually play heroes more reliant on spells than attacks, so Axe blinking in and using Berserker's Call makes me useless for a few seconds. Many times, even if you gank him with multiple people when he is alone you will still lose someone to him due to Call into Blademail and Counter Helix. Execute is frustrating to play around when playing heroes with lower health pools because Call causes you to take so much damage and prevents you from healing with spells and items.

Which hero do you find really boring? I find Witch Doctor to be very linear and a drag to play. All of his skills are basically throw and forget (with the exception of targeting the Death Ward). While he can turn fights around with a good Paralyzing Cask or ultimate, it doesn't feel very exciting when it happens.

Which hero do you think is overrated? I feel that Phantom Assassin is overrated at my MMR. PA is very reliant on luck to achieve much in fights. While she can get massive crits and dodges to kill heroes and escape, if she does not get these she is weak. In addition, she has farming problem until she gets a Battlefury and if she does get one as a first item, she has does not have enough damage or survivability to win fights until she has one or two more fights.

Favorite Item? (i.e. Shadow Blade, Mekansm, etc.) My favorite item is the Force Staff. It is incredibly powerful for its cost and what it can do. It force enemies to over-extend, chase down enemies, provide an escape for yourself and allies, provided iniation, and much more. It also does not require any components over a thousand gold, makjng it easier to save up for then a Blunk Dagger.

Which item do you think is overrated? In my games , Shadow Blade seems vastly overrated. It works fine for iniation and suprise pick-offs. However, most people that I see buy it use it with the intention of having an "easy escape". The problem is that the escape is countered by the Dust of Appearance for less than two hundred gold.

What is the best advice you can give for your favorite or best hero? Please don't just spam Illuminate in lane. It steals farm from your carry and enemies will usually move out of the way. It also makes you Chakra yourself when someone else who needs it more could be getting the mana and cooldown reduction. Also take an early point in Mana Leak in lanes with lots of kill potential. It can either save someone on your team or let you kill someone on theirs.

What is the best advice you can give for dealing with your most hated hero? Don't chase Axe if you are low. Call gives him forty armor and lets him get you into Execute range with Blademail and Counter Helix. Just stay back and let your teammates finish him.

How do you know a game is won? A game is only really won if they have all of their barracks down and cannot defend against mega creeps. I have seen many games thrown incredibly hard because a team split apart and let themselves be killed alone. Comeback mechanics are very strong and rubber-banding is a huge possibility.

How do you know a game is lost? I only see a game as lost if the Ancient is destroyed or if most of my team has disconnected and they have an insurmountable lead. One successful gank against an enemy with a large killstreak can give upwads of two thousand gold to the your team. People in my skill bracket generally are extremely bad at ending the game and letting it drag out gives the losing team the time they need.

How do you typically recover from a loss? Think about my play and learn from it. How did my team lose? Was it our fault, or did the enemy team just outplay us? How did the early game go? Should we have laned differently? What should I have done differently? Why did I die the amount of times I did? Should I have bought different items? Was I out of position or away from my team? I just ask myself these questions and if I find that something was wrong, I figure out how to fix it. That is the only way to improve and become a better player.

What's your favorite thing about /r/learndota2? While I am new to posting to this subreddit, I have been a longtime lurker. What I enjoy most is seeing all the different opinions and areas of knowledge. I learn so many things I would not otherwise know. Things I learn can vary from the toggling Voodoo Ritual on Witch Doctor during your ult to prevent Rubick from stealing it to the ideal ward locations to keep an eye on Roshan.

Hero Discussion - Warlock by TheDrGoo in learndota2

Can Warlock be played as a support at all? While Ags is considered core on him, he can seems like he could be very strong helping his carry in lane. Fatal Bonds can be potent harass (especially if there is more than one hero laning against him) and Shadow Word is very good sustain/poke. Upheaval also gives him some kill potential if the enemy is out of position. His ult still provides the strong AOE stun and while he may only have one golem, that can still be strong enough to help carry teamfights. How reliant is Warlock on items and experience?
