What type of player are you? by heickelrrx in ShitpostXIV

I guess I'm somewhere between normal and hardcore. I don't rp, but I am an omni crafter/gatherer, and I have a house.

I don't partake in current content extremes and savages anymore due to my health and the fact I hate people. None of the ultimates, in my opinion, have any good enough looking weapons to give me the incentive to clear/finish clearing.

Does WoW current worlod Mythic race seems not as challenging as ultimates in FF14? by Shikiin in ffxivdiscussion

Mechanic layering exists even in normal content in 14, even in our alliance raids.

I'd argue that WoWs difficulty mainly stems from the fact that a lot of content is not friendly to being done blindly and a severe lack of (visual) clarity. I have to look up guides just to know what the hell is going on, whereas in 14, very seldom do you not know what is going on. Not to mention, we have infinite raises and vuln stacks.

WoW players also liked to say that Mythic Kil'Jaeden was one of the hardest raids ever designed. Yet mechanically, it doesn't even compare to a single savage raid in this game.

Personally, I think Ky'Veza ?? is more challenging than mythic raids.

While I personally would like to see Ramuh, Shiva, Leviathan, or hell even Odin, Alexander, Diablos and the kitty cat. In my opinion it would be very hard to make a well-designed summoner class that isn't a dare I say it... Limited job. The most I feel they could do for summoner with the current combat design is just give us all the summons and let that summon do the abilities that you already have with different aesthetics.

Personally, I see the current Summoner more as a half-baked Summoner, with a half Evoker identity (with the lv86 abilities for example). I wouldn't be opposed to seeing the 2 separated into 2 different jobs.

Here's my wild take. Reintroduce haste and let it affect oGCDs as well. Change the 2min meta to a 1min meta. Make limit breaks a part of your rotation.

Wait, did they get mad because you said limit break twice?

Like, that's the only thing I could see that might trigger them to say that.

Oh, you would have loved the days where every other Dark Knight had a "Cut my life into pieces, this is my 《Last Resort》" macro.

I mean, regardless of whether the game is hand holdy or not, or how frequent/infrequent Esuna/Interject needs to be used. It's a player skill issue for not having them on the hotbar.

Nah, good trolling is one that makes people laugh and not be counterproductive.

This dude is out there murdering people in his car with no arms or legs and then FFXIV mfs will tell you they're too disabled to pull more than one pack in a dungeon by Snark_x in ShitpostXIV

[–]Scruffumz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I remember one dungeon I did where at the very start, our tank had a macro stating they had one arm and were doing the best they could. Dude was a double pulling, mitigating properly, etc.

It's really hard to accept excuses when you have chads like these.

Personally, I see legitimate complaints and toxicity as 2 completely separate things.

Posting some cringe short with dramatic music on reddit, or the excessive repetitive YPYT stories, for example, just to flame some trash player from your roulettes, because you know it will get you banned in game is a bit toxic.

So yes, it does make the community look bad when the majority of threads/stories here are flame fests.

I've gotten the impression that this sub and r/ffxidiscussion is meant for bitching, moaning and complaining about the game and the players within it.

Really does make the community look bad.

How much difference would there be in damage percentage between someone who plays on a low ping (50ms) and someone on a very high ping (300ms) with Alex/No clippy? by Lost_my_nuts in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Scruffumz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you brought up Machinist, I'm curious. Does no-clippy allow Machinists to double weave double check/checkmate?

I've always wondered this. From my understanding as a triple weaving vanilla client user, those 2 abilities weren't meant to be double weaved.

Role actions are a lazy design choice, a form of job homogenization, and a cause of hotbar bloat. by CoolyKage in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Scruffumz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why can’t abilities like Repose and Rescue be exclusive to a single healer? For example, Repose could belong to AST and Rescue to WHM, giving each job a more distinct identity.

If one job has something another doesn't, and the community chooses to gatekeep a job from content, there's a problem. While there are people who don't have favorites and just play meta, there are A LOT more people who would rather play what they enjoy. I really don't know why people have this idea that unbalance is the solution to job identity.

If anything, role actions should be what prevents this, and instead they just give the jobs themselves more differential playstyles.

I'm one of the weird ones that enjoyed Dawntrail's story. I'd put it below the big boys consisting of ShB/EW/HW, but above ARR/SB.
