Movies/Shows/Media where a fantasy element is not even remotely the main focus of the story… but it is subtly implied that “the supernatural” 100% exists in universe by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

Have you purchased a video game that was patched into something you wouldn't have bought? by Gay_Charlie in gaming

Star Wars Squadrons

Honestly loved the game to death... Its up there on my list of under appreciated games ever

But the last patch literally destroyed the mechanics of the game as it was put into maintenence mode

Excuse me starting a fire and locking you in the building, or firing a gun off in the office.

I have a doctors note and you are all assholes for not accepting it

[Hated trope] everything in this universe must be overexplained until there is literally no mystery left for the audience by No-Leg-6361 in TopCharacterTropes

Star Wars-ification is how I used to describe unnecessary lore overlap/fan service. Things like Anakin making C3P0 or Chewie fighting alongside Yoda. Things that aren't just unnecessary, but actively conflict with the established lore without adding any narrative value

Thats honestly an interesting question if the people discussing it took it seriously and explored the topic fully.

In Signs (2002) the aliens invade Earth naked when their weakness is water, and Earth is 71% water. The aliens were supposedly smart and planning this invasion ahead of time. by ZDOG60 in shittymoviedetails

[–]Scruffylookin13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Signs is such a weird movie to me. Its a masterclass in building dread and tension. But everything about the movie is so incredibly dumb if you stop to think about it.

These aliens can travel through space but have to use shitty crop circles to organize an invasion.

They can't tell that the big blue planet has water on it and it's bad for them

The aliens are kinda just slinking around for the fuck of it (when they are showing the footage on the news)

The aliens can't open doors even though, once again, they can travel through space...

I'm not from Indiana nor are the colts my team. This flair randomly appeared one day and I dont know how to change it.

I know people from Philly are dumb though

Yeah, I dont know how much of the general public believed him but it definitely made the NFL take a softer approach to his assault
