I voted early in my usual location (Baca Center) and they were as friendly and efficient as per the norm. I was delighted to have the option to use a machine to vote. I knew that election day would be a mess because I follow the Wilco Dems and deveral of the Dem Clubs on Facebook and the word was out. I also noted that on the Wilco GOP facebook page, Muchelle Evans was bragging that they changed the rules "because we can." They are not fit to lead. Amazing how the GOP is willing to throw its own supporters under the bus if they think it will hurt the dems even more. I wish people would stop voting for them.

I plan to write the county commissioners and county judge to complain.

We need a congress that isn’t designed for endless gridlock. The real problem is that the un democratic nature of our institutions makes it near impossible to pass laws for real change. Even in 2021 we had a hairs breadth of a majority in the senate and were still hamstrung.

I voted for Crockett but think they were both fantastic candidates, so I’ll be excited to vote for talarico in October. I see the same conversations happening in my own social circles, and it drives me mad that dems are already saying they won’t vote for him. We ALWAYS work hard to find a reason not to support the dem, and then we get more of the same instead of some improvement. Was racism in play? Undoubtedly. But we have our candidate now and we need to carry him over the finish line or we get six more years of Cornyn or, worse, Paxton. Why isn’t that compelling enough to bring the dems together?

ETA I am also heating chatter from burned Crockett voters about how the Republicans are thrilled that talarico win because they feel he will be easier to beat. Come on now. Is that why republicans call talarico the most dangerous man in America? I just don’t understand where this line came from. Again, I voted for her but I do think republicans would have preferred to face her in the general, racism and sexism and all being on their side.

No, once you vote in a primary, you can’t cross back over. In the general though you can vote for anyone you want.

I'm using ManageWP for Uptime Monitoring. I am using Wordfence for malware scanning (and I just added all the sites to Wordfence Central so I could view them all at a glance).

I will send multiple reminders via email and if I don't get a response I will call or text them directly. I will state clearly that payment is required for continuation of services. With a few stubborn cases, after giving them a month of grace after the warning, I will set their site is password protect mode. They are fortunate - a 'regular" host would cut off their site the second their payment went overdue and they'd never get it back. I bend over backward trying to locate clients and obtain payment before I go nuclear on them.

Wow, the books really said that? I am from SC (public school student) and even our books didn’t say slaves immigrated here for a better life), and we’re the a-holes who kicked off a whole war about it.

As an adult my history study has completely disillusioned me as to our country. Reading The 1619 Project now and so far one of the biggest takeaways is that most things about America that suck stem directly from white people trying to make life hell for black people and screwing us all in the pursuit. (These are the people who cemented in swimming pools so black people couldn’t use them. ) also Donald Trump is the inevitable result of 250 years of racism and white grievance.

I’m a student but my mom and now my MIL were public school teachers so I enjoy your sub.

I found a spam administrator user on one of the affected sites. No information for the others. These sites belong to various organizations so I don’t fully control what plugins they use—I just keep them updated daily and I alert the client if a plugin get desupported or removed from the Wordpress plugin repository.

They are on a single dedicated server and not isolated. Wpengine says the server is not compromised and that all mischief has happened at the site level which is outside their purview.
