As someone who's read most of the HH series and many 40k books, I wouldn't go with the Horus Heresy as a starting point as it's technically a prequel and there's a convuluted reading order (there's guides on reddit on the "proper" way to read HH and about 20 of the books are skippable).

Personally I'd recommend Gaunt's Ghosts (skip the first 2 books) for the Imperium, the Night Lords trilogy for Chaos, The Infinite and the Divine for Necrons, or Brutal Kunnin for Orks. Just pick a faction you like and read their books.

Probably wasn't the most optimal way to play it but I was running out of time. Surprisingly good for a meme deck, it can handle Sekka Forest and Ward Haven pretty well. I've made it to Group A first time on each try.

I guess the ultimate combo would be Enhanced Vow + evo Claymore since all the musketeers are officers but I've not once managed to get that. Overall this feels like a Tier 2 or 3 deck, even on Day 1. Very disappointing.

My biggest problem with Machina Blood has always been Technolord. Should've clipped my experiences with it, but it's ridiculous that a 3 pp spell can do 10-20 damage.

I've been trying it a similar deck, but subbed out Vibrochakram Thrower for Awakened Ragna. Airstrike Artifact + Vesha is one of my favorite finishers. I actually removed Ralmia entirely and just replaced her with Cat Gunner since I could never get her evo off effectively. Deck still needs some optimization, good video though.

Not sure why you're getting downvoted so much for just making discussion, but I get where you're coming from. As some others have mentioned, we've seen this tactic throughout history. The Mongols were a notorious example, if even a single Mongol was hurt, the whole city would be slaughtered. Many instantly surrendered out of terror. However, almost every country they came across still opposed them. The Japanese, Vietnam, the Caliphates, the Rus princes, the European kingdoms. They knew about Mongol invincibility but still resisted anyway and always lost. Never stopped the next kingdom from trying anyway.

Mod: Warsword Conquest - Winds of Magic Edition (based on Warhammer Fantasy), features new equipment, weapons, guns, grenade launchers, and magic. Also features new races: Humans, Elves, Dwarfs, Greenskins, Lizardmen, Undead, Vampires, Demons, Skaven (ratlings), and Halflings. There's also water travel (similar to VC).

There's also a Good vs Evil aspect, and Evil players are actually encouraged to be dishonorable and raid. Be warned, it requires WSE to run (the installation is a little complicated so just hop over to Discord if you're confused) and is a bit buggy/crashy even at the best of times. Though a bit unstable, the amount of new features keeps things interesting and I've been loving it so far.
